What's stopping you from being with a Dog?

I guess it's true that even an appartment is much more than life in a rescue kennel, or something like that. Dunno, I grew up in the countryside, our family dogs have always had the luxury of large house, garden, and a kennel with it's own small yard, and I know how happy it made them be and how it helped them enjoy themselves while nobody was at home. I would like to provide a similar level of comfort for my own dog. And I am not a fan of having a large breed of dog in a city appartment.
 
For me it's living situation mostly, can't get a dog with my two (aging) cats, so i'll have to wait for a while before i can consider getting one

a dog will live with you in a carton box if the relationship is there.

i kinda doubt any dog is happy with outdoor kennel... maybe for when you're not home and don't have a doggy door or something. any pack animal is happiest with their pack, not cast aside.

it's what i hate about our lovely country. dogs being kept in the yard with minimal or no access in the house for their whole lives being the norm.
got asked so many times why do i let my caucassian boy in the house, and the reactions when i tell them he sleeps in the bed with me on top of having free roam in the house... "he'd be happy in the garden.". no, he wouldn't. the garden doors are wide open even now in this "fine" weather so he can go wherever he pleases and he still prefers to be crammed under my desk (no idea how he fits there and the desk holds together) with his head on my thigh snoozing away.

Well, first of all, none of the dogs was ever outdoor-only. They were everywhere with us, when we were at home. The outdoor kennel connected to a garden was for times when parents were at work and me at school. On the contrary, I do believe that unattended dog is happier outside, where he has a place to hide, but also a place where to run and from where he can observe what's happening around them. See and smell everything, not being isolated behind a door, where he would just occasionally hear some noises.
But yes, I dispise the idea of people keeping dogs outside for all their live, away from the home and their pack.
 
I'm a dude and have no desire to do it right now because I'm satisfied with human females...lol
 
Living arrangements, no pets allowed where I am. But going out this weekend to find a new place then I can adopt a goid boi for all my lady friends.
 
Um..having that kinda access to a male k9. That's literally it. I've been very unlucky in finding a kinky owner near me...

Biggest issue! Not having the time, working bad hours to own a dog again. Have been a dog owner before! But firstly.. Getting a dog or a animal in every case is about bringing a new family member in.

So working as i do.. I cant give the quality of well being to another depending life as situation is, how ever i think!

All is about thinking of responsibility, taking care and well being of a dependet individual in first case.

Everything other is an bonus.. Or!

I have access to a male k9 from time to time.. BUT! In this forum people have all their thoughts of what is wrong and right! And i am talking as a NOT dog owner, but give a male K9 his release. Nothing more.. And that dog asked me about it first time ever.. Animals can read who i am and seeking me.. New dog or such! *If a dog ask me, give me signs! Do i have to say to that dog.. I know what you want! But this forum i am in say it´s wrong? Even if you ask about it straight..*
 
When I was younger I used to suck my one dog. Tried and unsuccessfully tried to get him to mount me too, didn't wanna force him to do anything. But since growing up I moved away and my apartment has an insane pet fee and I live with my partner who's afraid of big dogs so that kinda kills my ability...
 
I want a dog so bad. I feel for people that don’t have money, time, or a good living situation. But fortunately, I have all of those things. Just nervous to take the plunge. I enjoy my freedom and i know, though rewarding, taking on a pet is a big undertaking. I frequently look at our local classifieds for a pet someone wants to re-home that would suit me, male, intact, large breed. I find suitable animals all the time. Just can’t make myself pull the plug!

Living situation, work, money - not in a situation where I can by my own place (yet) and with a cost of living crisis hitting everything including rent, combined with needing to be in a certain area for work..... There's a few roadblocks, but part of my drive to change all that at the moment is the desire for an animal companion once again.
 
Personally? I don’t have a dog yet. My baby girl passed away last year and it’s been hard to find another dog since then. But I’m hoping soon to find another furry companion and life long friend.

I mean I have a dog but its too small and has also got the snip thanks to the terms of condition of buying one from that breeder. not only that but I don't live alone which makes it more difficult to do anything. I've tried doing something with it like licking down there which I did not force apon it myself, just sort of sat there while he did his thing without prompt. But its not what I imagine doing with my Lover and its really all I can do. I don't want to penetrate him anally since I know that will hurt him and that would make me upset. not only that he is very small, about the size of my lower leg. Hes never gotten hard in his life or showed it ever. Right now I've stopped all sexual contact with this boy since theres no point. I'm just enjoying playing with him like a regular dog and owner. but one day I'll meet my true love, possibly either a german shepard or a golden retriever. but who knows where life will end up
