Deep quotes you heard or made up?

A man of culture and not unlimited time.
ill give you the 'skinny' then, if thats what the kids say these days.

Dante's magnum opus, "Comedia", says that the southern hemisphere is totally covered by water, save for a single tall mountain, Mt. Purgatory, where souls had their vices stripped away one by one. the ghost of the poet Virgil escorted Dante there to see this.

Who is Nancy Friday
She was an author who came to prominence in 1972 or 1973 (I can't recall which) with "My Secret Garden", a book of interviews with women discussing their sexual fantasies. Most likely of note amongst this crowd because interviews with women fantasizing about getting it on with dogs and horses are included. For some zoos, this was the first indication that they weren't the-only-one-of-their-kind freakazoids.

-Francis Bacon

The only men I fear, are those that never have doubts.

The more I find out the less that I know, black and white is how it should be, but shades of grey are all that I see.

Billy Joel

"There is no honor in the end; there is no such thing as a noble death. Honor is a lie, a chain that wraps itself around those foolish enough to accept it and drags them down to defeat."

Sadly that is not a common held belief anymore, because "Google knows all! Why should I learn that?"
yes, it is a shame that we seem to have moved past the ages where wisdom is seen as something to strive for. knowledge has lost its importance, almost as if innate human curiosity has been removed from the coming generations. the very educated people used to be the figures that society looked up to, now it seems like the least-educated can get the most time in the spotlight.

today, many people just live to get drunk, get high, get laid, and get money. their masters are their bellies, and their world ends at the extent of their lust.
its truly a crying shame

"Three dispositions are adverse to Heaven's peace, - incontinence, malice, and mad brutishness."

-Danté Alighieri

Those that can, do. Those that can't, Teach. And those that are brain dead go into politics to lead us all to our doom.

If only our leaders actually listened to those that know stuff and implemented their advice, the world would probably be a far better place. But when personality and social media is the key factors for electing someone, rather than intellect and good ethical values is it any wonder we have the messes we do these days.

"Fear is freedom. Subjugation is liberation. Contradiction is truth. Those are the facts of this world. And you will all surrender to them. You pigs in human clothing!"
