What Do You Get Annoyed By?

I may fall into your annoyance list, depending on your definition of incel.

Strictly speaking, I'm celibate, involuntarily, but I don't hate women and think they OWE me sex.
Sounds like you’re self aware enough to not be in that list. You corral know the ones I’m talking about. 🥂

How others start a conversation but abandon it after you reply.

Wokeism is driving me up the wall.

And don't get me started on the social limitations on our life choices.

The Zooier Than Thou podcast. It's rarely about zoo anymore and more about off-topic activism. I stopped listening back in late 2021

Oh, gods, yes, that bites. That has happened to me face to face with dorm mates, co-workers... It's annoying on a forum. But in person? grrrrrrr

This one time, at work? Late night, there were few workers. One commented "refined sugar is evil". I perked up, thinking 'here's a conversation to distract from drudgery'. I asked 'how so'?

and he pretends he hasn't heard me
If I hadn't felt a need to still be employed there, I would have gone over and gotten in his face.

Looking back, I wish I had gone over and turned off his power strip and then gotten in his face.

Similarly, at college, someone posted a political cartoon on their door and when I asked about it said "I don't want to talk about it."
Dumbasses. If you don't want to talk about it DO NOT BRING IT UP!

just two examples from my life

What annoys you? And why does it annoy you. Share your thoughts here. Political incorrectness is encouraged. Of course be mindful as well.
People who say 'pedophile' when they mean 'child molester'...

People pronounce the T on the end of 'Bon Appétit'...

People who hypercorrect their 'me's into 'I's, and end up saying "Between you and I" or "This is a picture for John and I"...

People who assume veterans are brainwashed idiots and/or broken shells of their former selves... Most of us went abroad, did our jobs, enjoyed it, came home, and went back to our normal lives. We never hurt anyone who didn't need to be hurt, and we didn't hurt them more than they needed to be hurt.

People who color-code suffering and engage in some kind of bizarre Oppression Olympics... They sincerely believe that the darker you are, the more oppressed you are, and if you're darker, you must be the victim, even you're the abuser, and even if you are the abuser, it's only because your community was so oppressed that you had to lash out. This is a very American attitude, but it's catching on in Europe. By making everything about skin color, these folks ignore thousands of years of history. What's more, it's patronizing. It implies that the poor, helpless little darlings can't make it out of the 17th century without the help of the White Savior (the Jewish one, I guess?).

People who think 'Jew=white'... or think we're a race... or use terms like 'Jews of color'...

People who keep adding letters to 'LGBTQC++'. Just say 'GSRM' if you want to be cute. Don't screw around. There's a letter for every bloody thing these days, whereas GSRM covers every axis of gender, sexuality, attraction, etc.

People who think Ireland is part of Britain...

People who get upset that they can't say the N word when Black people can... (Hey, you've got everything else — the money, the political power, the schools, the Presidency, Congress, the banks, the media — but you can't say the N word. Like, OMG, your life is so hard!)

People who think the word 'niggardly' is racist...

People who use the word 'niggardly', even though it sounds racist...

People who use words like 'zionazi', 'abortophile', 'feminazi', 'male genital mutilation', 'misandry', 'redpilled', 'bluepilled', 'blackpilled', 'Muzzy', 'SJW', 'magat', 'Christofascist', 'pregnant people'...

People who use the word 'gatekeeper' in a context other than farming or Ghostbusters...

People who judge dead celebrities and 70-year old movies by modern standards. This is called 'presentism' and it is bullshit. Most of them did the best they could at the time. Let's cut our grandparents some slack.

Tokenism. "I oppose X, and I'm a Y!" Yeah, that's nice, honey. You're not the Lorax of the Y's. At best, you're a useful idiot. At worst, you're a sell-out.

And finally... people who assume you're a sell-out for going against the prevailing wisdom in your own community... :)

People who get upset that they can't say the N word when Black people can...
The problem with restraining speech is who gets to set the rules? If it's only okay in a certain time or place, or by certain people, who then gets to say what time, what place, or by whom?
People who think the word 'niggardly' is racist...
It's understandable that they'd think it...

People who use the word 'niggardly', even though it sounds racist...
... however, that shouldn't preclude someone from being allowed to say it. Someone not knowing what a word means doesn't mean it should be banned from use because it sounds bad. What if someone doesn't know what helicopter means? Or a country? Or a dam?

What about snigger?

When people walk slow in front of me, but there's no good way to get around them. Like, I just wanna get where I'm going and move on with my day, MOVE!! 😂
