The Zeta Chronicles - A pro-active comic for the zoo community

I love the idea of being proactive and getting the message out but was this really the best we could do?
We might agree, except for one detail: Why should we give a fuck about "getting the message out"? I have yet to hear a coherent explanation for why "the message" needs to get out in the first place, or anything that even smells like a benefit from doing so.

My reasoning is it shows other zoos there are options out there. People are going to pursue this whether people like it or not and places like this teach people how to do it safely.
Actually, I'm thinking that "doing it safely" is the absolute LAST thing this place does - or has any interest in doing. So far as I can tell, this place is, in essence, ZT's platform for trying to launch the latest iteration of "let's get loud and proud and demand our rights" (as if we have any excuse for being ALIVE, let alone having any "rights", at least in the eyes of the normies) that's failed every time it's been tried in the past 30 years or so.

I maintain that the only realistically expectable outcome is yet another round of "zoo-hunting" once John Q. Public gets his face rubbed in the fact that we exist. For some of us, that's a "Yeah, it sucks, but I'll survive one way or another" concept, but for our critters - those of us who have them and actually give a fuck beyond "It's a place to stick my cock", of course - the "no skin in the game" crew doesn't much give a shit either way - it may very well be a literal death sentence.

The furry tiktok attack is he'll enough. Really don't need it on regular internet and life.

Funny how alllllll these folks here go all sjw for "ar rats", and even try to skin some poor clod who asks the wrong question, but they cant get it up for the idea that our critters will bear the brunt of the feedback here. Do people really think there are NO consequences to this Crusade? In the end, there wont be any humans killed legally, BUT I dont believe for even half a heartbeat, with the past century's history, that our much beloved animals might not be....there's entirely too much trust being placed in "The Kindness of Strangers...."

WE have chosen to walk on the wild side. Reality Check One: we may have been born this way....can't help it. But WE CHOOSE to follow the path.

Reality Check Two: Our animals did NOT. THEY follow a path we laid out for them. We're the ones with opposable thumbs. We're supposed to be talking care of them. We're not supposed to be putting them at risk.

I like your comic!
This is a very clever yet restrained advertisement for our way of life.
Well done, thank you ZTHorse

Some horses are born with eyes of two different colors, called heterochromia. ;)
Whoever you are, the phenom occurs in almost all animals at times. I have known both a male and a female human with eyes of different colors right and left. One blue and brown, one green and brown. Looks pretty stupid in a horse. Humans can get contacts for temporary corrections

Edit: Restrained is a GOOOOOOD word for this, bubba. Whoever came up with the idea OUGHT to be restrained....in a jacket with a belt in the back.

I don't have much more than the occasional passing brush with furry stuff, and I don't deliberately do tiktok - or any of the other social media sites - no farcebook, no twatter, no linkedin, no none of it, so no concept what you're referring to. Call me an innocent... ????

I didn't manage to finish reading the sentence before David Bowie and his brown/blue eyes popped to mind as a famous example. The close shots in Labyrinth required no camera or post trickery/makeup/contacts to get that one eye brown, one eye blue effect - 'Cause it was built in.

As I recall, doesn't it happen slightly more often in males than females? Enough to be significant, but not enough to outright call it directly sex-linked?

I know for certain that it directly connects to the facial patterns, if any in horses - I don't ever recall seeing a solid with it, but I've VERY often seen "chromy" horses with splashes on the face - the darker colored hair usually surrounds a brown eye, the white/light hair usually surrounds a blue one - gramps always called that a "watch eye" - said it made him think of the face of his dad's pocket watch. I've even seen horses where there's a junction of color and white that crosses the eye, and the color side of the iris is brown and the other, where the white would be if it covered the eye, the iris is blue. Makes for a really bizarre look.

I believe it is sex-linked to males....and theres apparently a mutation that occasionally allows it in females....it can be a yummy effect, at times

Hopefully your friends will be friends after. Unless this is sarcasm.

Best way to tell your friends is... "Found this on twitter notifications"
Actually I wasn't being sarcastic, I'm already scrutinized for putting unicorn stickers up everywhere so it won't be out of character for me

True but.. Youd have to know my situation. I just means that I call a lot of shots, I doubt I'd be fired. I love the comic tho!
