Computers are basically a need to live nowadays... unfortunatelly.

I hate that basic things like going to the police station or paying your taxes can not be done if you do not have internet connection, and you can not work with a bank unless you own an smart(ass)phone this days

Still, if soneone does not want to use computers in their private life/ free time and still need them for their work, the employer should have thought it before renting or promoting that person.

And if so, I say it IS the employers thing to train them as needed in (in work hours) 🤷

yeah, you. because you wanted to. you didn't have to.
your job in construction manufacturing didn't force you to use one, you wanted to. and not knowing how to use one is strange, in this day and age, but it isn't unheard of. nobody has to use one in his free time.
