I've seen loads of pictures dating before the deposing of the Shah of Iran, and they were just like any western country. Iran has gone backwards. Women have no freedom now, same as in Afghanistan under the Taliban. It's completely awful and has nothing to do with religion. It's something that worries me about all totalitarian governments. Subjugation of women.
