Bobbi (Roberta) Gibb, iconic lady, who changed distance running for ever. Women were banned from running marathons because we lacked the stamina and couldn't run much more than three miles (idiots!). She entered a marathon in 1963, I think, and about halfway, people realised that a woman was running (gasp!) but instead of getting upset and annoyed, they started cheering her on. She finished the race about a third of the way down the listings and changed everything.
