Bobbi (Roberta) Gibb, iconic lady, who changed distance running for ever. Women were banned from running marathons because we lacked the stamina and couldn't run much more than three miles (idiots!). She entered a marathon in 1963, I think, and about halfway, people realised that a woman was running (gasp!) but instead of getting upset and annoyed, they started cheering her on. She finished the race about a third of the way down the listings and changed everything.​

I didn't know her or her story, how brave and daring she was to show that this prohibition was just a prejudice!!! But now she has a new admirer!! She was also very beautiful!!

Not exactly....By the way, the Toe Rands are service oriented, not decoration....They keep boot toes from inordinate wear....Stirrups are hard on a boot, and kicking the toes out of a decent pair of boots is never a good thing
