How Many People do You Chat With

So what does nerd mean? In my opinion I have noticed that folks in general that might accept the subject of the topic of this forum are either quite intellectual or the opposite. That may be an error on my part but until proven wrong I stand by it.

I feel like nerd can mean several things these days, but for me a nerd is somebody that enjoys things like sci-fi or fantasy or anime or just things in general that the majority of the population isn’t too interested in. Or at least wasn’t too interested in recently. It seems now that there’s this weird turn in society where everyone wants to be a nerd and everyone wants to claim that they’re into nerd stuff. But yeah, I’m not sure what the intelligence levels of most people here would be. I feel like I get a decent mix of really really stupid people and some pretty smart people from time to time.

Yeah, I feel like most conversations have an expiration date. I’ve only been on this site for about three months and I feel like I’ve had about 100 conversations start and end already.
 
Well I am a senior gent but I believe in beings from another world I believe in possible portables, to be so close minded that we are the only intelligent beings in the vast universe is actually stupid. I really have no idea what is out there or what the future holds but what little evidence we do have suggests we are not the alpha in the universe.

I agree. there’s no way that the universe is as big as it is in this planet is the only one with any kind of life on it. And if intelligence can blossom in one species through evolution, then it can definitely come out and other species as well. The universe is old and we as a species are extremely young. so chances are that there have been other intelligent beings out there for possibly millions of years and have had quite the jumpstart on progressing through the levels of civilization and intelligence.

Well, the best way to start making some good friends is engaging and engage in conversations that you enjoy. Eventually like-minded people will see what you’re all about and want to talk further on these things. Sometimes it just might take a bit of time though.

I’m sure you’ll be able to find them eventually. There’s a pretty solid furry section on the site at least. So that’s a pretty good place to start.

I’m just curious what people’s chatting habits are on here. It feels like most of the time I message someone, they respond so quick I can’t get to my other messages.

I’m a woman and the vast majority of my conversations are with guys. I have about 15 people that I regularly chat with on a daily basis. Only 2 are women. Only 3 of them have I really gotten to know very well and they know me very well. I have maybe 10 or so dud conversations each day that I can’t commit the energy to reply to the same questions over and over again or that are just “hey how are you” copy pasted every day.

I'm new here, but I hope to get into some nice and fun chats in the future. This seems like a good forum atleast.

I’ve tried to have a couple of conversations, but usually don’t get a reply back. Which is understandable I’m still fairly new here and trying to bump up my score so that people won’t think im a bot, or will be more willing to have a conversation with me. Open for chats btw.

It’s definitely a good place to meet other zoos and like-minded people. Sometimes it can just take a while to find decent people to talk to and get into a rhythm. Not everyone that you try to engage with is gonna sync up well with communication.

Howdy ? It’s no problem at all really. I think if this forum is going to try to be like a community, it’s important to have open discussion and to have engaging conversations with each other. This site is kind of like a mixed bag of things where there’s porn, there’s conversation, and there’s also a section for trying to meet other people. For me I just find the conversation part more interesting at times.

Yeah, that’s gonna happen a lot where you try to talk with people and they don’t respond. I wouldn’t take it personally. Obviously everyone’s got their own stuff going on and they want to prioritize their energy to speak with selected groups or preferred persons. I’m sure with time and more commenting in engaging in the threads, you’ll be able to find more people that you sync up well with

Well, there’s lots of people to try. Not everyone is going to be responsive obviously. Best thing is just stick around and engage when you can and try to be a part of the community.

I’ve not really dipped into the furry section too much but what I have seen is really fun at least. It seems like there’s a decent few people in there.

Not something I’d take personally to be honest. I know I’m not everybodies cup of tea and that doesn’t bother me in the least. I engage in the ones that catch my eye, and will have to see how everything plays out. Thanks for the advice though :)

Yeah, that’s fair. I’m definitely not everybody’s cuppa tea as well. I can be rather annoying at times or just bitchy.

I never stood a chance… thankfully I’ve never felt compelled to collect things though at least. So the wallet is safe for now.

For me, I think my humour kinda throws people off. But if they can’t handle me at my fullest they’re not worth being in my life.

You are seriously lucky. My parents tossed out so many Star Wars, Transformers, and GI Joe toys I could be set for retirement today!

That’s fair, why bother trying to connect with somebody if you have to hold part of yourself back. There’s plenty enough people out there who can sync up well with you.

My dad has a couple boxes of old comic books. Some of them would’ve been worth something, but we definitely read the shit out of them. One of my very favorites is a Superman comic called At Earths End. If you like “what if” stories then it’s definitely worth a quick read. It’s just a single issue.

I might have to look into it!

Comic books can get crazy. I've read a handful -- such a drop in the bucket! I couldn't imagine buying/collecting comic books because there's so damn many of them, and a lot of them are really good. My friends introduced me to the X-Men waaayyy back when. Lubs me some Wolverine! :)
