If he wanted to, he could sleep in the bed. But he does not want to, he wants to sleep in his own bed, or halfway out of the door.

I actually have a sleep over dog at the moment. It used to be mine. He always was in my bed. So obviously he will tonight.

Yes, always. They always get their treats on the bed when we go to sleep. This is our ritual that it's now bedtime. The female then gets plenty of cuddles and the male gets the blanket that has been specially prepared for the dogs and sleeps on his “throne”. At night, they sometimes decide to leave the bed and sleep in one of their baskets.

I used to, for sure, back when I did have my dog. He'd always curl up into a ball against my back, the fur and smell was never really an issue

If you have a large breed dog do you let him sleep with you on the bed? What about the hair and smell? Does he wake you up in the middle of the night?

Yes my dog usually sleep in the bed, I love to have her there and snuggle with her. Sometimes she shed a lot and then the bed get covered with hair but I'm used to that. I sleep much better close to a snoring dog than alone in the bed

I don't have a large dog myself, but my girl always has a spot on my bed even if that means I wake up at night not being able to stretch my legs out sometimes. However, I've slept with larger dogs multiple times in the past and honestly love the cuddles and occasional back support despite fur getting everywhere.
