He could've asked for advice without exposing the relation to the person in question, mentioning that he jacked off to her private content multiple times, or that the content in question was even of her. He only violated her privacy and is weighing calling her out on it, even in private. We should at least give him credit for not being a complete douche and blackmailing her. That's like saying he only raped her he didn't kill her so we should give him credit. It's possible she will never feel safe keeping this sort of stuff around again, not to mention the fact that dude totally perved on her private stash. And you want to give him a lot of credit? Yikes

It's also possible that she may be relieved to discover that she's not alone in her interest in this lifestyle...

Don't get me wrong, I don't completely agree with this whole situation - if I were in OPs shoes, I would have looked into what was there, but wouldn't have approached them unless I felt it completely necessary, IE: for their safety. In that respect, I can see some kind of rationale for informing the mother in law, if only to ensure that she keeps herself and her content safe in the future.
I would hate think of the consequences had someone else less understanding of the content found it... she would probably already be in jail.
 
If she has the internet and she's taking photos/vids of herself in action she likely already knows she's not alone. She could be given completely innocent advice about securing important files in case this happens again in the future. If she wants her son-in-law to know she's an adult and she can decide for herself when to tell him....or that's how it should've happened at least.

You're making assumptions, like we all are in this thread - we don't know what the mother in law would prefer nor what could happen if OP does nothing.
We have all made our opinions clear, all of which are completely valid and now it's down to OP to make the right decision(s).
 
I’ve always wondered how much of the homemade stuff we’re watching never was intended to reach public eyes!? I can’t help thinking that most of the amateur zoo stuff where people show their face etc were made for personal joy only and NOT for us to enjoy. Also I guess your mother in law isn’t alone about her little hobby, surely your father in law is a part of it too? :)

I am pretty sure that she knew those files were on the old laptop, and if you copied files over then you would see them. Just be tactful and respectful, perhaps make a subtle joke about K9 sex, just to see how she reacts. If she freaks out, then don't push it any further, but if she joins in with the joke, then take if from there. Good luck!

Consider the policy that some stores may or may not have when dealing with the computers of their customers - they too may indeed intrude and/or copy the contents of the drive.

I know a pc shop with data recovery service, if he finds anything illegal he goes straight to the police. Friends don't get a favour....
 
So just to report on how things have gone. They couldnt be any better. So turns out she already knew i was zoo dropped off a package one day and seen me through the gap in the blinds playing with my 2 K9s. never in my dreams and i ever thought i had been caught makes me wonder now if anyone else has ever seen me at it ?. She was the one to actually raise it with me as i was gerting really nervous and was going to just leave it, have already deleted all files, was just going to let it slide.

We have had a few discussions over the last week its good to have someone so close know my secret and she feels the same way. We have yet to decide if we will join in K9 play together but have had fun teasing and throwing out hints and storys when it has just been us.

Thank you to everyone for your honest answers even if some people did not agree i feel tjis has turned out for the best and will keep anyone interested posted on what looks like a long journey ahead.

P.S she is very interested and open about joining the forum as she didnt know anything about it however she will not be mentioned and outed as the lady in this post, thank you all again.
 
So glad to hear this went well, and how about the surprise of having her already know you were into k9! I am so glad to have randomly stumbled across this thread and so happy that everything turned out so well for you. If the step described above had not happened yet, I would have suggested going the path of offering advice for better file security and say you are recommending this after discovering what you did by accident on her HDD.

Reading select stuff like this makes my own personal past existence not seem so comparatively odd or out of place LOL
