Can you answer my second question please? I am trying to find a way to clip my dog’s nails and he is pulling away so I end up cutting them too short because my small dog is being difficult when I try to clip them. Lack of funds are preventing me from taking him to the groomer so I have to do it myself or have help if I can’t do it by myself.

Most of the time we are in medical mode, have many additional patients, very little mental bandwidth to spend on each individual patient, and basically none of us are zoos. Unless you bring your dog in with a particular concern like a lump deep in the vaginal canal (where the question of how you spotted it would arise), you should be totally fine. Medically? Perfectly. But sounds like you have personal reservations about it that have nothing to do with safety. Just like trying any new taste, you can always start with a very small amount and gauge your reaction. If it's not something you want to or feel comfortable doing, don't pressure yourself!
The drawbacks about this have already been addressed when interacting with another sentient species. If you are concerned and unable to gauge equine feelings/emotions or behavior, I would suggest spending a lot of time with them to build up that familiarity. They are fantastic animals who you can spend a whole life learning about, bonding with, and caring for and still have more to do. Horses are a particular kind of good for the soul.
