Oh, it can always get worse. This is coming from someone who has "been there, done that" when it comes to having some rather unfortunate life experiences.

there's no way you're either dumb or indoctrinated enough to believe it can't get any worse (considering it's not even really that bad atm) or that there isn't anything to lose.

getting actively hunted down by "zealots" or authorities?
ppl around you being incentivized to out you, for monetary or similar gain?
law-enforced mutilation of our companions?
complete ban of owning certain animals unless you're a breeder or need them for work?

just from top of my head of things worse than "being left alone if under radar"

I mean "nothing to lose" as in. Zoo types are treated the same as other taboo types. Don't you think that's kind of disturbing?
 
That someone would say we have nothing to lose is really quite concerning.
If you have an animal in your life whom you love and who means everything to you. Then there is always something to lose. Animals don't rank the same in a lot of peoples minds and they have very little to no legal rights in a lot of societies so some body with the weight of law behind them could quite easily come knocking on your door and take your animal from you. They could then in the best situation be re-homed to somewhere that would at least take care of them, that is of course after they have been desexed to supposedly cleanse them of the sexual stink you put on them through your "sexual depravity'. That is the best outcome the worst outcome would save the authorities a lot of time, by simply putting the animal out of it's misery via a bullet to the brain to save them from the memory of the "perverted" acts a zoo did with them.

Laws can be changed easily enough, giving powers to people to do everything I just mentioned. Would I like zoo to be destigmatised and for more people to understand that interspecies love is quite possible without harm to any party to the arrangement, absolutely. but it has to be a gradual change chipping away at the edges of opinion. Getting in people's face or making grand gestures that are nothing but a flash in the pan isn't going to do anything productive in the long term.

Humans in general don't like things that are different. So even if a fully evolved anthro canine with a degree in quantum mechanics stepped out of his house one day and announced in flawless and clear English that he was in a relationship with a human people would still have a problem with an animal and a human having sex with each other, it's just the dumb ass nature of humans as a species. If ET turned up tomorrow and was covered in fur and looked cute people would fall in love with them, and sure as chickens hatch out of eggs those that were alien lovers would be condemned for it if not hunted down and harmed by those that disapproved.

Different is always seen as bad, till that mindset changes in the majority of peoples minds, "Out of sight out of mind" is the safest way forward.
Opinions stand the best chances of being changed, by simply showing all who meet you and your animal(s), that you care for them deeply and take care of all their needs. This simple act, stands the best chance of reducing the severity of problems should your zoo relationship ever be exposed.

the one showing more and more of his instability everyday seems to be you, bud... from wanting to out somebody to literally saying "things can't get worse" and "we have nothing to lose".

Popcorn at 1:00PM. I only had my girl for 3 years before she passed. But within them three, thousands were spent in cash and hours just in care and the companionship. If I had the solid 10 or 13 years it be much more to boot. Imagine losing all that half way through? No thanks. I’d rather go to the grave over having anyone tell me they are taking what I love dearly.

I mean you're just sheep to the masses. It's better to take action then wait for someone to throw the fogger out therefore make the situation worse.

Aka too safe. Judging others by their past actions also is a flaw in humans. I appreciate there are people willing to take action to improve the well-being of relations between humans and animals. People who are too safe are complacent where they're at.

Animal life deserves recognition as well as respect. So I can be certain equality will exist.

Let's be real here: why not let actions speak instead of people bellyaching like the lobbyists and politicians. If you have no contribution you have no right to talk.

Let me ask you something. Do you own a home, car or have a loan owed to the bank? What about a job that took education in the years along with the cash to back it? What about the ability to bug out if needed? And above all, time effort and a lot of money spent on animal companions to the point it’s almost as much as taking out a loan? If you don’t have at least half these things you yourself don’t have a right to talk. Why? Because you have never thought of or had to think of the repercussions of losing such. The suicide rate among farmers who lose their land for the inability to pay is sky high. Imagine what that does to any of us who have all to lose?

That's easy to say if it's all given to you. They have no right to do suicide if it's all given to them. Just like rich people have no right to be depressed if they got all the money in the world.

If we're talking animal companions? Well... I just don't put them in that spot in the first place. However the orientation there's nothing to be ashamed of.

Given? Listen just because you had something given to you don’t mean it doesn’t cost you. Pull your head out of your ass. Until you sit in a CO chair you know shit. The amount of time spent at home by wealthy people is minimal at best as the job takes all your time until you either step down or retire which at that time your probably half way through your life. There are reasons why many leave high level jobs just for sanity and time spent with family. In our case animals.

i stopped checking on that by "page" which was like two or three boxes of "characters walking in silence"... no idea why the artist went for "resting punchable smug face" for the horse character.
