I was pleasantly surprised that you took the time to walk me through this. I dont pretend to know how a forum structure "back office" is structured nor how it is maintained/operated on a daily basis. It seems that allowing the OP more control would be a progressive step forward, but I can now see where that would have been a complete mess. Also, any change to the rules from the standpoint of maintenance/operation should only be to lessen the load on the mods and admins not creating more time and effort to be allocated. I do appreciate the opportunity to walk through this procedure, I don't see how it would be an improvement and save mods time, rather cause more effort to be exerted and time expelled. This all started, because I replied to a thread that was on the forum link not one I went into subjective categories looking for. I made the mistake. Thanks !Very much the expected outcome since the beginning.
This thread exists for a couple of reasons:
1. I wanted to demonstrate how to effectively ask for a change.
Instead of writing 10 pages of emotional paragraphs about chromosomes in the dumpster fire and dancing around some issue never properly defining it. I helped the OP clearly define the problem in two concise points without emotional outbursts.
2. Then I presented a way of formally asking the forum to do something.
Instead of complaining endlessly, you take a series of clear steps to get an answer that matters no matter whether the answer is positive or negative.
3. I wanted this to focus on the technical aspects of running a forum, not the emotional side of the trans community.
4. At the end of this thread there will be a definitive resolution to this problem coming from the only people who are authorized to make a change in the forum. And no further point in complaining about this particular issue.
