I don't know about this ship, but it's unfortunate the SS United States has been laid up for many years at Pier 82, Philly.
It's just sitting there, huge and magnificent, even in it's old age and bad condition.

The very one. At one time they were going to send it to a knacker, then Philadelphia
( which had built one of the first US Navy Frigates, The USS United States) asked to have it....and they got it
...But its an expensive thing to restore...so it sits

Yes, and there is a SS United States Conservancy, but they can't do anything without the mountain of money it would require.
