A Steamship of the US Lines....My Granny went home to Scotland on one of their Ships in 1956, after a Visit. I remember seeing her off at Pier 86, probably on the SS United States. I was not quite three. Note that Pier numbers coincided with Street Numbers: Pier 86 was At 86th Street and the Hudson River. View attachment 524958

I don't know about this ship, but it's unfortunate the SS United States has been laid up for many years at Pier 82, Philly.
It's just sitting there, huge and magnificent, even in it's old age and bad condition.
