A horsehair Bridle with a "Gal-leg" bit. That separate piece is a quirt. Not shown is the Mecate that ought to be with this rig.

Horsehair gear was used by the old-timers ( yeah, even older than me) because it's less alarming, by feel, to a Horse....especially to the semi-wild, half-broke mustangs commonly found in a Cavvy. Such gear is worth biiiiiig money these days
