Hellenistic Life Size statue from about 330-50 BCE
The Fist Fighter
According to my lexicon :
”The Fist Fighter is a bronze statue of a seated man depicted as a boxer with straps tied around his hands; several different metal alloys are used to show wounds and scratches on his face. It was found in 1885 on the Quirinal Hill in Rome and is in the Museo Nazionale Romano.
It has been suggested that the statue be attributed to the 1st-century BC sculptor Apollonius of Athens.”
