How common do you think Zoophilia actually is?

It did used to be culturally nomativr, the ancient romans had orgies on saturnalia that included dogs openly. So you never know, but i doubt itll be accepted so much as tolerated in private for years to come
This. And also zoophilia is as old as time. Every Civilization had it. It goes back as far as the Egyptians if not further. They had a special temple in which there would be intimate with goats as a part of their religious Rituals

I wouldn't say that it's common by any means but I think that it's more common than most ordinary people might think
I just wish it was more accepted. Or at least openly acknowledged, even if not agreed with. I think it's a very divisive subject, and those who have no problem with it stay silent so they don't become targets of those who do have a big problem with it. It's difficult to get around closed-system rhetoric. ("If you don't accept it's wrong, then there's something wrong with you.")

I'd love y'all honest opinion and be completely honest. Aside from the wonderful community on this website, in today's day and age, how common do you think sex with animals actually is? Like even for the people who publicly condone it, when they go home behind closed doors, how often do you think they're actually one of the many who are sexually active with their furry lovers?

"German survey conducted in 1989, covering some 3000 adults, showed that three percent of men and two percent of women admitted to having had sex with animals"

"In the Hunt study (1974), 1.9 percent of the women had had sexual relations with animals, compared to
the Kinsey et al.’ s figure of 3.6 percent (for post-pubescent women)."

"In the urban population, about four percent of grade school boys were involved in animal sex between
the onset of adolescence and 15, and at the high school level, this incidence dropped to between one and four
percent
."

"The incidence and frequency of animal sexual contact reported by the females in Kinsey et al.’ s
sample, were much lower than those of the males in the 1948 study. Only 1.5 percent of the total female sample
had some sort of sexual contact with an animal"

"An additional 3.6 percent of the females interviewed by Kinsey et al. reported having had sexual
contact with animals after they had become adolescents, but only 1.2 percent reported repeated genital contacts,
oral sex or intercourse. Half of the women who had sex with animals (1.8%), had these contacts after the onset
of adolescence and before age 21."

"Only one percent of those sentenced in Austria for bestiality were women, and they had sexual contacts with dogs."

This is from Hani Miletski Understanding bestiality and zoophilia study.

The Miletski's study 2002 has:
"Of the total 150 questionnaires that were sent out, 93 (62%) participants sent their completed
questionnaires back to me, which comprised this study. Out of 132 men, 82 (62%), sent back their
questionnaires, and out of 18 women, 11 (61%) sent back theirs. The study is made of these 82 men and 11
women."
Men were actually 7.4 times more into it in 2002.

Actually if you look at the zooville's gender poll and forget that it might not be completely accurate:
71.1% of those who answered are male.
29.9% are female.
You can quite clearly see that women are not more into it.

Keep in mind that scientific research is much more controlled and takes lying more into consideration when you compare this to the thread above.
So in summary. Highest numbers are 4% of males and 3.6% of females.
You can maybe round it up to 4 and 4.

I do not think it changed much nowadays. It is just easier to find because of internet.

Pretty common? No. More common than people think and studies suggest? Yes. I'd wager up to 25% of people had done something sexual with an animal at some point in their lives. Mostly just horny teens trying their bits for the first time and moving on. Whereas actual zoophilia would be much lower as society is governed by religion and all mainstream religions say you are going to hell if you have sex with an animal. So zoophilia prevalence? I'd say maybe 1-2% at best. I know I certainly would not publicly admit to anything even on some "confidential" survey.

WHOA! 😲 Thank you so much for all that interesting information.

Just my little perspective, it's really interesting to think about though. The everyday normal individuals we run into while out and about, they go home, close their door, and in complete privacy have some sweet sexual relief with their furry companion. Then once they step back out into public, no one would ever suspect it.

I'm sure the % of people who have thought about it or have looked at some porn at some point is quite high but as I said the religious stigma combined with the fact that in most parts of the world you can be imprisoned or stoned to death severely limits actual participation. Unless we can somehow get some massive movement like LBGTQ+ whatever else they have added to it by this point we will forever be persecuted and prosecuted. What a sad world we live in.

I've seen somewhere that a pro vet said that 70% of girls who had a dog tried sexual things with him.
EXACTLY WHAT I'M SAYING! The fact that it's probably more common than we all think is truly fascinating. It just happens behind closed doors, so you'd never know who exactly is participating.

I think those numbers alone don't allow for a very clear cut conjucture.
For exemple the difference of number between men and women don't mean necessarily that woman are less prone to zoophilia than men. There is also how society shaped sexuality based on gender. Generally, in europe or asia, society encourage men sexuality but tend to discourage or shame woman sexuality. So a lot of women will be less inclined to try new things, explore their sexuality, and some just are outright discourage of the sexual matters for differents reason. in other words, society say " Man who fuck a lot is KING, woman who fuck a lot is dirty whore". There is a lot of study about that, but i did read them in english lol.

Also as some said, the fact that is a taboo don't help people to interact in a sexual way with animals, so it lower thhe numbers by default. Unless the taboo magically disappear, it will be hard to quantify zoosexuals ^^'

Buyt yeah with what i saw, i think we can say that, at the minimum, 1 to 4% of the population are zoosexuals.

Now that i think of it, it's quite a lot actually.

And those Asian and Eastern societies are right in their viewpoints. When a woman sleeps around she is devaluing herself while only a man of true value can sleep around with many women.

You do understand if women didn't sleep around that men wouldn't be able to either? You do understand the world is pretty close to 50% male 50% female not 90% female 10% male? Double standards serve nobody.

Usually 2%, but there is no accurate recent research on it. It is likely that the number of people who watch videos and masturbate is much higher than 2%, and those who fall in love with animals are less than 2%.

One thing that is guaranteed to be certain is that we have been having sex with animals for several thousand years, it is likely that during the development of the human brain, sex with animals was among the first.

Try billions of years. Without interspecies mating and mutations nothing would exist. Humans ourselves are mixed from multiple hominids. Neanderthal and one from Asia I can't remember are prominent. But even in nature cross species relationships happen. Usually it leads to nothing because the genetics are too far different. I mean if you go far enough back everything has a common ancestor but a lot of mutation and genetic drift has happened over time.

Ah pes, you smashed again with facts and shattered the dreams of many about zoos being much more than 3% of the general population :)
Anyway, it is a delicate subject to study, therefore we have very little info on it sadly. Even if the real numbers are way higher, it is a tiny minority of people who are into it. But I also met girls (1-2) who made comments that meant to me they were curious.

Sigh... You don't get it. Men and women are not the same. There is no "double standard" as that applies within the sexes, not across the sexes. When a woman sleeps around she gives away her being with every man she sleeps with and with men it shows that he has prowess if he get women in bed with him. Men are made to spread their seed with as many women as possible while women are designed to be valuable for their virgin bodies. Why? Besides paternity, every man instinctually knows that a woman that sleeps around can't care about you. Deny this male instinct as much as you want, it doesn't matter to me. You are entitled to your opinions no matter how feminist and woke they may be.

Using "woke" instant ignore list.

yeah.aisa female have less sex with dog

As a woman myself, I have been active in the zoo for almost 11 years and have met quite a few curious and active women during these years.- Since we don't have any major serious studies on how common this is, nobody knows, we can only guess. it would be interesting to do an anonymous large study with 100 million participants in the US and 100 in Europe. the question is how much such a study would cost.

RIGHT!!!!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾 The study can totally be anonymous, I'd just be soooooo interested to know hard numbers though. Like just imagine if 7 out of every 10 people you encounter in one day are actually active in zoo in some type of way shape or form.

thats how most of us have to be

With the internet almost nothing. Advertising would cost time if anything.
