Fake User Awareness Thread

I think most of them on this forum is just that. Fake, catfishes and time wasters. I got to a point to just not allowing anyone anymore to send me private messages unless they get straight to the point. When I receive a message with any sexual stuff, or have to explain myself and my entire life to some creep , I just press the Ignore button.

I've never understood why they did it... Not like it was some illegal meet-up, do some people enjoy catfishing and wasting the time of others so much? Is it some weird attempt to tie folks up with fakes and make it harder for them to form actual connections? It baffles me.

...At least here, I could understand the logic, if it were some kind of weird sting operation...

Had a supposedly female user almost immediately want to hang out, like first day of talking and then wanted to snapchat first. Really obvious that it was fake.

I mean, I got banned before I could even do anything because I wasn't receiving emails from this site at all and had tried to make a second/new account... Messed that up royally.

I tried to create a second account with a second newly-made email, figuring that perhaps the first account was broken somehow...
That didn't work, so I tried using the first account's new email.
Insta-banned for "SPAM".
Funny thing is, since I wasn't getting any emails, I never got the confirmation email...

And so I couldn't even post or see any threads in detail yet, let alone get an appeal on the ban since I couldn't message any admins/mods about it.
Felt rather confused, a bit pissed and sorta hopeless.
I suspect the ban was done automatically, given how quickly it occurred just after trying to see if swapping the email to the second account I'd made at the time would work; probably the system spotting that the same email was used by the first account I'd made and tried to register.
I totally get the vigilance, too. Just wish it didn't make it so difficult on my own end to actually register properly.

...Had to wait like four days to be SURE that my email would be able to receive the confirmation email.

While I'm still not sure if the cause really was this site or not, I suspect it was just something on tutanota's end.
I know when I deleted the auto-banned email account with them and made a new one, it said something about being unable to receive emails until it was okay'd and somesuch... But I don't recall such a warning when I made that very first account? Dunno.
...But meh.

I'm here now and finally able to feel less-than-alone about my attraction to steeds'n'such.
 
Are fake users a big issue on here? I lurked around for a little bit getting used to the website before making an account. It seems like a pretty common topic. I am trans ftm if that matters
 
Wondering if there is a plugin for the forum that could do this automatically

That might help stop people from posting stolen content or content posted on other sites and ease the admin overhead in repots amd banning

Yes, it would stop the reposting of legit videos and pics from the allowed sites but hopefully it would have a whitelist and an option for the "approval needed"

That would be most people in the world. A lot of people want to think they're themselves but aren't.

Here's the problem. People can try to be honest but people can assume they they are fake. How can you possibly tell for sure?

The only time I'm going to get concerend about lies is when someone admits they prefer lies. Which is extreamly dangerous. Not just for me, but whoever might make such a claim. I'd be more concerned about "them" in such a situation. If it ever gets to this point though then there's been a back and forth of thoughts and opinions already.

Those people "Typing like dis 2 u" could be bots, or they could be trying to find out about you. People use phones a lot. So they type like dis 2 u. I prefer PC. Makes it easier to type proper words and hold conversations better. This is also why I prefer discord instead of telegram.

It's quite possible phones limit communication more due to smaller screen and such. That alone will make it harder for people to keep up with more detailed communication.

Easiest way is to comment on their profile as if it’s them

Much easier in a thread that say “show us your xxxxx” then it’s implied that it is themselves

I use saucenao.com for my reverse-image searches. It doesn't hit every single site, such as those which compile other images like r34...
But it's pretty decent for its accuracy in locating works from anything else that ain't locked down with a paywall.
 
Yeah this is why I am so hesitant to chat with people. I mean I have seen some claim to be male then other posts it's female and then other posts their age changes. So just look out people.
