That’s exactly how I am. Always felt close to my animal friends on the farm and out dogs when I was young. Then when I hit puberty I started looking at them in a sexual way. I thought I was the only one for a long time, but it didn’t feel wrong, especially because I learned that they were enjoying it as much as I was. I didn’t realize that anyone else was romantically attracted to them as well until I found this place.

I didn’t have the pleasure of growing up around many animals and I was raised ultra religious like so I was supposed to be normal and straight and so I tried. When trying failed I thought maybe eventually it would click. I refused to allow myself to accept what I already knew for a very long time.

since i lived in such an isolated place for most of my life where sex was never really discussed except in passing, and i did not frequent internet forums, i was, by some sheer luck, unaware of how society looks down upon zoos until after my realization that i was zoo. so of course, left to myself, i never saw it as anything shameful, and was very surprised when i realized the world at large thought differently.
