I absolutely hate it when shit gets moved to the DF. If someone's breaking the rules, delete, warn, whatever, but moving shit to the DF just normalizes DF behavior outside the DF and the whole place takes one more lurch toward the whole thing being the DF.

First off I think it would have to do with the person's ie homophobia and how comfortable or insecure they are. Myself I probably would if he wasn't getting some but it might take a minute

Coming from the perspective of someone who is at best zoo-adjacent when talking about attraction, I would indeed consider it gay. I’d even say I’m less likely to engage in such an act with an animal rather than with a human, because a very large part of what forms attraction to me is femininity. For me, femininity is easy to recognise and appreciate outside of genitals when it comes to humans, but not really in animals. I could see myself not caring about the genitals of a trans woman (M to F), or even a particularly feminine crossdresser or femboy. When it comes to animals, a winking mare or presenting bitch is certainly attractive, but it is (at least in part) due to the obvious display of femininity inherent to that act. Studs, stallions and the like rather obviously lack those traits.

and this is the reason it's dumb to argue. of course an average dictionary will define this as "between two ppl", why wouldn't it? it just shows how little the general society even thinks about "us", "we" are not even a part of regular definitions. it's sad to see ppl here using this as a straw to grasp on with their "it's totally not gay to want to suck a dick".
ps: vocabulary.com describes it simply as "sexually attracted to members of your own sex", not mentioning any species.

No 2 peoples minds work the same way. For people that love with no restriction on sex or species, it makes no difference. To an outsider they may be bi. But sexuality is more complex that a single term used to describe it. For many people sexual acts with the same sex no matter the species is classified as gay or bisexual. For him it is gay for me it depends on the dynamic of the relationship I have with the other male. To me giving oral sex is a subservient action(though it may not be for others), for me to do that with any species I have to have certain respect for and from the other participants. But with out me saying this no one would know. Only through deliberation for the sake of understanding have I been able to articulate this.
A person loves a dog differently than a person. I don't consider someone bisexual if they are interested only in females in every way except dogs. If you also enjoy males of other species, you are already bisexual.
A pint of beer does not make someone an alcoholic.
Loving, being in love with, and having sex with dogs is completely different than with other species or humans.

That’s a really good point and can be extended to things like…two men holding hands walking down the street seems “gay” but what if that’s all they do? Or think about a man that really likes making out with other men but doesn’t want to have sex with them and he loves having sex with women.
It’s hard to put a label on something like that but I feel like starting with the literal definition of the word is a smart way to go about it. Your race example would satisfy the definition of “gay” but interspecies sexual attraction or conduct falls outside of the definition of “gay”.
I’m invested in this discussion because I have zero sexual attraction to men or female canines but, for whatever reason, am wildly attracted to women and male canines. So when the main definition of gay is being sexually attracted to people of the same sex, well that doesn’t fit even a little bit.
I’m kind of generally averse to warping definitions of words to suit ourselves. Maybe we just need more complex orientation terms. Maybe it makes sense for me to say that I’m a straight man that is zoo-gay, or something like that.
