Well, as it stands now the alternator in my SUV seems to work perfectly fine at the moment. If it were to break I might take one look at the cost of the tools and decide that it would be better just to take it to a mechanic instead.
It shouldn't take all but a 3/8ths drive ratchet and a standard and metric socket set unless it's European. If so then you have female torx sockets in your future and I pity anyone who has to deal with one of those striping out.
