Very easy actually, you can say "roughly 1,8 meters" or "just above 182 centimeters" or "to be precise around 1825 millimeters". And everyone can imagine with the usage of at least three and a half brain cells (yes, horrible precondition nowadays, I know! Half the population would fail! Dang..) how it would look in decimeters, as example (18,25 to be exact).

I was pointing out the fact that you have to use decimals in that instance, or saying one meter 87 centimeters.
Also fahrenheit is almost twice as accurate as celcius is without getting into decimals.

Or 18.7 dm or 187 cm. Very easy to convert, depending on how small you want the increment to be. It makes more logical sense than 12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard, 1760 yards in a mile.
