Yeah, some breeds are more prone to it than others. Generally your Labradors, Collies, Newfies, Saint Bernards... Friendly breeds like those are generally fine with the same sex. But Spitz, Rottweilers, Cane Corsos, and Dobermans generally have issues with it. About the only Spitz breed that doesn't are Samoyeds. But dogs being pack animals, like to have company and don't like being left alone by themselves.
