Not an allergy. The body is just uncapable of absorbing the lactose due to lacking the lactase enzyme. I can't recall that it involves the immune system.

I speak of allergies in colloquial terms, not scientific ones. The cause may be different, even the effects a different, but the result is the same: you can't have X.
