Yes, @Kristy is exactly right. They are harder to spot because that whole "couple" concept makes you not look at them as critically as you do an individual account. But, once you get past that concept and look closer, they are no harder than other fakes to spot, generally.

Thank you. I'm glad you feel that way.

You make a great point there too. Even if I say that, or you say that, or whoever says that 100 times over the course of time, it may be seen, will be seen by someone who hasn't seen the other 99 posts about it because they are new here, or they dont look around here very often.

It would be very nice if you could have even a little basic trust that who you interact with here are who they say they are, but that's just not the reality. The reality is you need constant vigilance in that area.

An easy check for this.. is ask for a confirmation pic.

Safe one is them (the couple) holding a piece of paper, with current date and a phrase of your choosing, one hand of each of the couple members visible.

If the "couple" bitch, moan and complain about any sort of verification, just block them for being a lying asshat.

I have had the same issue, with a "couple" contacting me cos curious and they always fall at the first verification hurdle.

No. There are websites that, for a price, will create a fake confirmation/verification picture for you. Never trust those pictures.

That is step 1, but that should be something they can produce on the spot. if it takes any more than 5 mins, they are lying. Its a quick filter for a 1st step, then I would have a voice chat with them both at the same time, on something like wired, or safe anon app, and its a slow process.

There is multiple layers to this.

Also learning to spot bad photoshops

Bingo. Verification pics are trash. The best and most assurred way of confirmation is chat, chat, more chat. And a little skill at picking up on subtle details if at all possible.

Still, no. The picture, they can always have on hand, and current date and time can be filled in by them with Photoshop in a few seconds.

Which is why you have them do a written one, with a phase you choose.

Shops are super easy to spot and if they have to do a quick one the shops will always be super awful. they should literally be able to produce it in 5 mins or less. If they humm and har and delay, and take like 20 mins to produce it, assume its a shop. There are plenty of tools to spot shops as well.

I have never seen a convincing shop created "in a few seconds" for this purpose.

Again, this isn't the SOLE way, it's just to determine if they are worth verifying further.

If you have a better suggestion, I am all ears.

Honestly, pics are literally the last thing I do. If I do them at all. I'm content with a description. Because no one sane is going to send a face pic to someone they dont know, in this context. I'm ALWAYS at a meet first, if your description doesnt match what I see, I guess you wiould be on here, or wherever bitching about being stood up, lol

And, @FunDoggoMan .....you missed the point, or are picking up entirely the wrong point, in what @Kristy Is saying.

She didnt say multilayers are bad, she's saying verification pics of any kind are completely useless as they can be purchased.

Even in me just saying chat, chat, chat there are multiple layers in that.

Multiple layers are the golden ticket. But it falls apart if the layers arent reliable.

And I am saying they should be able to produce said verification pic on the spot. In under 5 mins, ideally in like 2 mins or less. I have NEVER seen a passable Photoshop, that has been produced in under 2 mins, that was anything other than laughable cringe, and I have seen plenty of attempts.

text and "trusting your gut" are the worst levels, on account of your guts having shit for brains ;) (that applies to everyone btw, even myself)

Personally my verification process is, in order of increasing reliability

1. Text chatting with the person for a bit.

2. Asking for a hand pic, with the current date. and a random word of my choosing, written on hand in pen. Any protests, excuses (my cameras broken, not my phone atm etc just make my eyes roll), or delays past 2 mins is an automatic failure. MAN has this produced some absolutely cringe attempts at photoshop, they thought would fool me. If it's a couple, one hand of each member. I have never had a "couple" successfully verify so far. If I am still sus, this gets repeated in different variations once or twice, on different days, different words, different hand gestures.

3. Voice chat on an anon secure app like wired, session. Just a normal, friendly "getting to know each other" chat, more than once.

Only THEN would I even think about meeting up for a coffee or a date.

OK cheif. You do you. I have nothing at all to prove. To you or to anyone else. And anything that may need proved, is already posted here elsewhere in other threads. People here either talk the talk, or walk the walk.

I've been doing this for over 30 years and no one who wasn't who they were supposed to be has ever even made it to the meeting phase of things. I've met dozens of people, never been catfished, never been "stood up", never even seen a LEO in this context in what's probably over 100 personal, hands on experiences. But, your methods are quite obviously more successful than mine, so you must have it all figured out. Please point out more of my methods that aren't viable because obviously, I'm doing it all wrong. While you are clearly doing it all right.

Please, tell me more about how I'm doing it all wrong.

And, this is more or less why amost all male members of this site will never, ever get even remotely close to any real life experience.

The day a male member of this site or any other like it actually gets even the slightest clue of what any random female out there in the world actually risks in this lifestyle is the very first moment that male gets a slight sniff at meeting any such female. And a sniff is not even close to any reality, but just a slight inklimg of the complexities involved.
