How common do you think Zoophilia actually is?

If Kinsey( and the others) is outdated, and farm animal access is far less, that SHRINKS the numbers it wont increase them. Fewer youngsters seeing animals doing the deed means fewer going active. 3 percent tops
Yeah, that's about where I'd peg it, too. You probably saw my mention of the 7-8% report from back around... Oh, I guess it was about 12-14 years ago now. I bet you've seen it, too. And I wouldn't be surprised if you originally saw it about the same time I did. And I'd FURTHER bet you give it just about as much validity as I do - namely, no better than highly questionable and/or wishful thinking.

Yeah....I saw a lot of that data far earlier though. 8 percent of men and 3 percent of women, which at current pop is about 40 million. Regardless, the figure is deceptive because it includes ALL contacts....once, repeated, voluntary, involuntary, Human initiated, pet initiated. It would NOT include the voyeur aspects of our little Hobby. The 3 percent figure would probably be close for people enjoying the contact and wanting more of it. But for some of our SJW's here, they smell apples everywhere, never thinking that they walk in an orchard. They can't smell dandelions, of course, but theyre also not noticing Petunias, Violets, lilacs or bullshit either.

This is interesting for sure. I think the number can vary and there are people like me who stray in and out of the lifestyle. My experiences started when I was young, when I went to college I stopped everything and then I was married and no opportunity. Now I am divorced, and one of ‘those women with a large dog’ for a pet. I would say at two different times in my life I would qualify to be a part of the ‘active percent’ and the rest of my life I was inactive.
I think a lot of women or people are like me. Active at some point, interested at some potent away from the lifestyle at some point and then active again.
I do think that the overall number is higher than people realize. I know for me it is an extremely closely guarded secret and it took a lot of courage for me to just be able to joint this site. That might sound silly, but for me it took a lot of courage to just take that little step. I think there is a significant number of people that keep it a secret and how do you count them?

I applaud your bravery! It is not silly at all. It takes courage to be vulnerable and no small amount of faith to join such a community, especially where there are some who aren't as they seem.

People are people and the deception rate will depend on several predictable factors, such as content, context, legality, social acceptance (or lack thereof), etc. Given the predictable factor, it's why aggregators of data and pollsters can usually guarantee a margin of error, say 4% in their findings.

Those who aren't as they seem? Do you refer to the unsurrendered?

Male/straight/30
My #1 is women with male animals. Which enticed me so much that have experimented with female dog.
Truly I couldn’t agree more I have be active and inactive on and off since I was 15 now I’m 30. It’s always been the ultimate turn on for me so I Never lost interest or stopped Liking the lifestyle but I have always kept everything to myself won’t say any names but only 2 women on the planet know me and what I’m into and honestly I wouldn’t have ever mentioned it to those 2 if they hadn’t said something to their dogs that caught my attention and made me question that they were into it. I played it off like I was shocked like what did you say then played The Who am I to judge what your into card and the ur secrets safe with me card and then threw the curiosity card in there for safe measure until I knew for sure because I didn’t want to be wrong and blow my own cover. For me I was very nervous to join the site because it is my biggest secret. And even then I made 2 fake email addresses that are chained together just to make my profile.

I think the real numbers are higher than any of the data findings.

It happens far more than most people might think because most people will never come forward and admit to it.

This site is a prime example. Lots of people sign up for memberships after lurking around for months and months...................but how many never sign up?

How many have that special little secret that no one else will ever know?

Indeed, you can't really give a number or a % to it unless you absolutely ask everyone all over the world, and even then not everyone will give you a honest answer.

Study numbers don't really tell me anything because they are mostly based on a small group off people who are being asked.

Yes I agree that many have that special secrete I know that i carry that dark secrete that’s hard to share with people I know. I know that there are others in the community but it’s hard to find them. Having this secret of zoo is like men and women who enjoy being with the same sex but won’t come ou.

Considering all the issues with being open, I think there are a lot of people who keep everything a super secret. For me it was a super secret with a big added dose of paranoia!
It took me a long time just to be brave enough to sign up for this forum. I lurked for a while, reading and wanting to tell you all some of my ideas and experiences but I was too nervous too
i think there are a lot of people out there like me, some are active, some dabbled and maybe some are just fantasy, but they would never tell a soul.
how do you count them?

There really is no accurate way to know. I would think that most of the data is just an educated guess that may be somewhat accurate but the true numbers we'll probably never know.

The answer is... apparently not common enough to make it legal in most venues. Not enough to be considered a significant faction of the population as to be respected by mainstream society or at least protected under law.

So many other sexual orientations have gained one or the other, or both, of those recognitions, despite having very, very few numbers, percentage-wise. Yet zoophiles? Even including bestialists, so far, apparently not enough.

We're in line. I would guess there are far more incestuous relationships in the human population than zoophilic. So... don't hold your breath. We're still at the back of the line yet, due to low numbers.

You are probably right...we are statistically insignificant. That being said, I think there are more of us than we realize, it’s just impossible to know since we are all super secretive about it.

All of which ignores a factor that pretty much everybody doesn't seem to grasp: Who actually cares, and why? If zoos were common as dirt, or one in a trillion, or even "I'm the *ONLY ONE OF MY KIND*", what practical difference does it make?

I remember reading a study some years back that (I assume they meant in America) if you work at a job that employs 100 people, that 15 of those people have had sexual contact with an animal on at least one occasion. My reasoning says that sounds logical, though I have no way to prove that. Now as to how many might be ACTUAL zoos (IE someone who might be a member HERE) is anyone's guess. If I had to take a guess then I'd say probably, out of those 15, probably 2 or 3 at best. I'm sure a lot more people have a one time experiment and regret it or decide that it was fun but not for them and will never admit to it, but those who end up becoming like us... I'm sure is an exceptionally small number.

It doesn't matter how many of us there are, what matters is who is in charge of making the laws. And those people are predominately some flavor of Christian, and they tend to quote Lev. 18:23 as the divine reason why we must not do that thing, and so to force their religion on everyone else, they pass laws in the name of "protecting the animals." In order to allow it to be normalized, we must convince the religions that they are wrong, or kick them out of power. Good luck either way, I guess.

That said, I think if everyone came out as in favor of it, it would eventually be decriminalized back to it's normal status quo of protecting animals from abuse.

That number could be higher, but because of laws it's hushhush or you go to jail. So everyone has to go underground.
If it were legal, I bet the number would be much higher as well. Have you seen the way most pet owners look at their pets. So many of them seem to have that "smitten" look when they look at their animals. I'd be willing to bet if it were normalized, we'd see some odd 30-50% of the population at least try it instead of dismissing it outright, and probably 10-30% would be exclusive or preferential for their furry partners.
