I always thought that they needed to smell certain pheromones in order to breed. I guess I got it wrong.

Considering that I'm male, I clearly don't have female pheromones, but my boy will practically undress and knot me, so I'm with everyone else on this and say that they don't care about any of that and are quite happy to have a place to get their rocks off.
