Why's the site keep doing down? It's been multiple times this month alone. DDos?

I do not know. Mods do not have access to server configuration or logs.

I made a thread something like a week ago about server stability and all, but nobody said anything in it.

This isn't a topic of discussion amongst you guys? There's no way admins don't know about it.

If they do, they should be working on some resolution for it. If they know and aren't doing anything about it, that's just asking for trouble.

I am not an admin.
The bare metal server is run by one guy who is largely unresponsive. Probably has his priorities somewhere else around his other websites.

I just go with this assumption its tech meshed with code and weird shite will happen with all this kind of stuff at any given time! It has been going on since the dawn of the public interwebs and any technological device in general. I have found in the past if something can go wrong it will go wrong usually at the worst possible time! It is were the phrase save always , and often came from. It is why my graphics professor always encouraged us to keep things backed up in three different ways, on three different sources. I lost term papers, and projects a few times because I forgot to do this.

shits gonna happen at any given time it is the nature of the beast and there ain't nothing anyone can do about it. It especially fun when your drives crash or your device decides to die.

Server maintenance every night starting at 2am. Looks like you posted this immediately after. It doesn't take long, anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes.
It goes down a lot more than that though. And it gives different errors.

Plus, for a short time, it tried getting me to download a .bin file

That was a common error when certain options are not selected in response to a specific server issue. Instead of an error screen it would prompt a download of a file. All that has been taken care of if I'm not mistaken. If not, we are aware of it and is not a danger to anyone or the forum.
