Who else cringes when

Someone posts the "do you mind if I follow you" line? It's simptastic.

I don't really understand following. I've followed a couple people on here, but I don't even know what it does. I do know my mama always told me to beware if a stranger follows me. lol

I believe its for the "news feed" option when you go to the "whats new" page. Which I rarely look at, but that's my guess at least.

That is cringe but I had a guy once asked me to follow him because he followed me. When I asked why he said so I could be notified when he posts furry horse art in the furry porn section. Lol and I need this information whyyyyy? I'm a furry too and there's already enough telegram art channels and stuff out there, I don't to go on this forum to see the same stuff your reposting.

Yes, that's how it works. However, users can disable notifications, so even if someone signs up in vain, they won't receive a notification either. However, the forum does not say anything about this.
I disabled it because I don't want others to follow me so they don't see any notifications from me.
This is a stupid system in Xenforo.

Never heard of that but off the top of my head two reasons. could be wanting recognition or having a bad experience trying to follow on social media

I follow a handful of people here, but only the people I feel I actually like and want to see more from. It’s not just some stupid thing I need to make myself feel more important.

Worse is "can I message you?". Just send a damn message, if they don't reply that means no. How is publicly harassing them more "acceptable" than annoying them with inbox clutter? You like getting a public rejection?
