Way too much information to try and cover with a 3 hour movie. I knew alot of the history already but my partner was soooo lost he fell asleep mid way.
It would have been a great Ken Burns twelve part series.

It was structured more like a series of scenes than a linear story being told. It made it very chaotic to watch. Still I enjoyed the history and science. I was like " look babe it's Niels Bohr" !

Peter Greenaway is such a fucking fantastic filmmaker. The nuance of storytelling is incredible in this one. The allusion to homoeroticism through the main character’s obsession with the bodies of Roman statues absolutely carried me through this film. So many shots in it make me wish I had the means to take up my photography hobby again.
