Just wanted to point out that the United States has the world's highest incarceration rate, and almost all U.S. states have banned sex with animals. It might be a good idea to leave the U.S. Both Republicans and Democrats have voted to ban sex with animals in various states. The new anti-zoo laws in the U.S. are being instigated by the Humane Society of the United States.

Freedom and true open mindedness are part of my core beliefs so I don’t like either, but the democrats go against everything I stand for. Trump has been growing on me for the past few years even though I disagree with him on a lot of things, and I would prefer not to go back to electing lifetime politicians that only pretend to care about the people.

We are nearing a age of truth I feel, soon our true reality will be revealed and many things which were thought to be fiction will turn out to be fact in one form or another. The bickering and doomsaying of politics is only an illusion to keep people occupied so they won’t venture on their own towards a journey of self enlightenment. You have free will, you have power, it just needs to be awakened, no one can do it for you.

I am firmly aligned with the Democrats, but because I do vote in the primaries consistently and also pay attention to local and state-level political processes, my views are extremely nuanced. I intend to continue exerting a high degree of control over who actually holds power in my party, and if pro-zoo candidates start to run, you can count on me to canvass for them.

This is the best thing i have ready today!! Glad i ran across this thread.

To be honest, I hate politics too, but like.... I have to get involved because my rights as a trans person are on the line. I rather just sit it out but self-preservation makes it extremely important for me...
The 'worst' things Republicans have done against trans was forbid them to join the military. Your rights are not "on the line".

...in 2012, I bought a new Obama bicycle,,,it had no seat, and no handle bars...it was made just for folks like me...lost my ass ,,,and didn't know where I was going...did I mention,,,it doesn't have any brakes,,,I can't get off this thing...more truth than I would like to admit...

Not American but if I was I would vote non-Labor party. However for the President that is different. I would normally support the Dem nominee but I really like Trump over what the Dems are offering in 2016 and now

I believe a government is necessary in order to protect the most vulnerable members of society. Without it, some people would gladly eliminate the disabled or mentally ill.

It also wouldn't be long until people started to engage in wars against each other for everything imaginable. We'd end up like the Middle East. Terrorism would become rampant.

So, a sound government is absolutely critical to ensure that people don't kill each other over their differences.

Politicians these days have complete forgotten, defaced, abused and perverted what once started in ancient greece as an honorably service to the society.

They think the people of this country exist to provide you with position.
I think their position exists to provide those people with a good live. With enough food so no one has to starve, a save home so no one has to live in fear, with education and medical care.
They are not provided to help companies to make more money, enact laws that allow companies to exploit people or to destroy and poison our world.
They have confused something really importent:
We dont empower them to rule,
we empower them them to SERVE!

And one last thing:
In ancient greece, when a politician made decisions that did not serve the well-being of the people, he was banished for 10 years.
Maby we should introduce that again...

I can't say I lean one way or another but, I feel that the vast majority of politicians, especially republicans, Simply do not care about their fellow Americans, Only how much money they can make off of back door deals with corporations who already have too much power.

In the end I'll support anyone who actually cares about the country and wants to better things for everyone, not just the people who have never had to worry about money a single day in their lives.

my voting leans more towards whomever I think will do less harm.

Completely fair. Our society and the world at large are fucky at the best of times.
I think most of us do our best to just ride the wave and go about our lives. However there are always those on any and all sides who need to calm the fuck down, realize that life is really only as hard as you make it and learn to enjoy it more.

Do your best to at LEAST not make shit worse, but if you can help the world along the way and make things even a little better, Do it, It will make you feel good and as if your life wasn't a complete waste of time.

Also, For those who worry about immigrants at the border because they don't want criminals to get in, I have a thought.
Instead of separating families and keeping kids in cages,we implement a system where if they narc on the various gangs, drug lords, give us vital information about their routes, drivers, connections, really anything that could help us track them down on this side of the border, We fast track their citizenship. Let's face it, most of them want the same things we all do, a good job, roof over your head, to feel safe at night.

What better way to feel safe at night than to know we've also implemented a ZERO TOLERANCE policy towards gang members. No prison time, Trial then execution if found guilty. Saves money, roots out a lot of the criminal element, and welcomes hard working future Americans into our society without having to worry so much. Plus no more kids in cages!

I can dream right?
I like to find balance, a way for everyone to win. Well, most to win at least.

Loosely neo-confederate. The Confederacy had the right idea with severely limited federal power and states making the laws. I say loosely because a lot of other Confederate ideas (like all the religious BS and racial issues) are not my cup of tea, and major foulups to what was otherwise a brilliant form of government, way ahead of its time. Using just the good stuff from the Articles of Confederation (the basis for the governing system limiting federal power while focusing on states rights and state law superceding federal) one could draw up a new government system without the religious BS and other problems the original had.

I dont condone what the states had in their laws in any way, but the basic idea of the way the governing system was devised, we wouldn't have the corrupt dictatorship we have today.

I completely agree!

Why not just not have a federation then? Just be an area of land with a multitude of individual nation-states?

It's tricky because capitalism benefits everyone but the poor, and socialism has proven not to work time and again because it creates political corruption.

I don't know what to think anymore.

^Capitalism with a strong safety net benefits everyone

The problem is once the citizenry get that they become complacent and let creeping corruption and greed take a hold of our politics/economy.

We the people should remain ever vigilante

I like Heinlein's republic. Everybody gets the benefits that the citizens vote to allow them. It takes voluntary government service to earn citizenship.

Sounds like starship troopers.

Service gaurentees citizenship!

My political stance: all politicians are crooked fucks, including my uncle.
System works but don't.

To quote a song:

I don't wana think about tomorrow. I don't need anything money can buy, I don't have to beg, steal or borrow.

I JUST WANA LIVE UNTIL I DIE!

Unquote.
Leave me alone, I will leave you alone.
Stay off my land, I won't kill you.
My laws are simple ?
