its culture protection, alot of the time it comes with marrying within themselves in order to keep it. like a french would want to keep his french culture he wont necessry marry a german - and they are both the sam race - but differnet nationality

and ofcourse you have some unmannered people in japan, it is not perfect, but it is one of the lowest crime countries in the world. maybe second place or first.
 
anyway, this topic is weird to me because no one should be put on a pedestal or generalized. i brought up negative topics because i don’t want anyone to romanticize a country, just like i don’t want them to hate it entirely. you can’t sum up a country in a descriptive text.

and i am not going to hold hands with people who believe separatism is a good thing. you can preserve your culture without isolating people :/ or segregationists which is what i feel like you are implying

MOST Japanese people aren’t Xenophobic, it’s not even conscious for a lot of them. most welcome foreigners and tourists. it’s just they .. other them. Which isn’t fair for hafus, they are apart of Japanese society.
You can come from an angle of “ but that isn’t xenophobia, because they’re Japanese.” That’s the whole point. They other them for their parent.

Or the black English teacher who felt othered while living there.. she wasn’t even mad, just.. sad. if you accept foreigners work, you should treat them with kindness.

and like, that’s the thing about culture. It’s taught by parents. You can have both. It’s not going to disappear JUST because one person married outside. Reasonably, I’d ask you WHY you think you can’t.

you cant have both... kids need stability in order to be set in thier ways when you spit the kids you hurt them because they wont feel truly belong anywhere

and the guy you quoted did not say - hurt people who intermarry
he said that people should have the right to choose who they want - so if japan wants to keep its culture and marry only japanese people - then let them

also as long as you INVOLVE them in their cultures, they won’t feel abandoned. If you truly are a GOOD parent, they won’t ever feel left out once they get rid of the initial backlash.

i believe it is the healthiest model to 1 husband focus on his 1 wife and focus on eachother because adding more could meen splitting the resources or attention and etc.

so in order to do that you need to raise them in one specific culture so they would feel belong - it would be the result anyway because you and your spouse would have to choose where you are going to live which would be the culture you would raise them in.

actually i am .... my boss of many years was a japanese. i worked with her kids who were mixed and studied alot from them about the issue of mixed culture children

it’s not so much politeness as your views entirely. you can be the most polite person in the world and be the worst as a person. I don’t know what you are like outside of this, but as I Do Not Vibe With This At All, I am leaving. It’s not so much a discussion, as it’s an airing of grief over the festivus tree. This isn’t theoretics. I am talking about real lives that have been affected.

well i can see that you are thinking m views are someting they are not because i know what i ment and i see your reaction.

in real world pinescentedpuppy there would be alot of views that you wont like , and unless you would discuss them they wont change... i dont like your personal view for instance that you think japanese have to intermarry culturly - but i am not angry , it wont help getting angry in a discussion because you did not agree with an opinion.
