What are silly things your partners did out of jealousy/wanting to be with you?

I have quite a few anecdotes to tell ^.^

With my first partner, she did the following:

She would cry and howl for hours and hours whenever I wasn't home so I ended up taking her everywhere (to class, family reunions even though my family doesn't like dogs), to the store, etc.
She learned how to open her cage and the corral doors (mixing groups of dogs and letting the sheep roam free) if I did field work or study without her so I always took her with me out on the field or studied on my bed next to her

She would never leave my side nor do anything other people tell her to do (not even simple commands like "sit" even if offered a treat)

And the second I sit or lay on my bed, she would get on it and lay right next to me. The only instances she would leave the bed would be to puke something out or to pee but then she would jump right back in.

As for my new partner, we haven't really had too much time together as of yet but last night, I went to bed and my stray (who usually sleeps next to me feet) layed next to me in a spooning position. Of course my partner didn't like that idea so she growled at her for a while. I fell asleep and woke up with a wet bed (I swear it wasn't me lmao), the stray next to my feet, and my partner laying next to me in a spooning position.

What about you guys? Have you ever had similar situations?

This was before I got into zoo but when I was really young my mom got my a shitzu poodle. She ended up watching over me like I was one of her pups which she never had. She’s always be by my side and would push herself to the point where she would collapse just to make me happy. She even hated cars and the school bus cause they took me away every day. Eventually she got so old that her own body was breaking apart on her literally. Her stomach bloated to the point Where she was twice as wide as before. She most likely was in some amount of pain but she refused to part from me. At last one day I found her waiting in my room. She knew she couldn’t last any longer, but she waited to see me one late time before she finally gave in. Her lungs collapsed on her in front of me and I couldn’t do anything but comfort her as much as I could while yelling for mom to come and help. All while crying. This happened years ago and I still can’t help crying when I think about her. It’s making typing this a real challenge.

Ah, yeah.. sit back a moment & let me spin this tale.

My younger Brother, was a drugged out, alcoholic, who simply adored Meth, and HEAVY metal musics of several types. (think bands like, T.S.O.L. , Pantera, and Old stuff like the Dead Kennedy's and Judas Priest)
Okay, I have been a musician since I was a kid, and my younger brothers Jealousy was a Thing.
people would see all my "gear" and then look at my brother & ask, "and what do you play?" and with drawn brows, he would answer,
"The Fucking radio."

Okay now yer getting a clearer picture of the personality type my brother is. (Was.. R.I.P.)

He loved to play music on the bleeding ear edge, so often he would come to my house, with a bottle of booze in his jacket and some Backwater Dirt weed (Marijuana) and use my 2000Wt P.A. system to.. "unwind".

one day he had stayed a little too long, got a lot too drunk, and was being fucking obnoxious as these types of folks often do.
My Beta In command of my small wolfdog pack, "Wallace", took it apon himself to "dis-invite" my brother.

as my brother was standing Mid-room Howling Drunk & enjoying some "Pantera" and shouting lyrics at the top of his lungs.
Wallace got up from the next room over, walked up to my brother, and lifted his leg & pissed all over him.

I about died laughing and so did my brothers drunken 2 person entourage.
it was several moments before My brother realized what even just happened, when Wallace walked calmly away back to the next room over.

it's an involved kinda story, but ya have to have a decent understanding of the characters involved.
Cuz that's some funny shit, right there...

The only thing I have that is close, during a break-up my ex decided she would get her new boyfriend to come over and get her things. Which was fine, until he started running his mouth.

Then I said well if she wants it she can come and get it. You are not welcome here.

The dumb ass came running at me, I side stepped and grabed the back of his neck and slamed him to the ground.

He got back up came at me Agin, i clocked him and apparently broke his jaw in 3 places.

I picked him up put him in his truck and said thanks for stopping by.

Well I'm not sure its jealousy but I can't leave my dog home unattended or unkenneld its she pulls all the stuffing out of my sofa, I hoped she would've grown out of it by now but she turns 5 tomorrow and I'm on my fourth sofa. I guess the god awful kennel will be part of my furnishings for a long time.

When I have a human partner over. My boy will attempt to get himself involved in any given way and he always growls and gives the evil eyes whenever someone attempts to give me physical affection. It's jealousy I've never seen before.

Separation anxiety. There was a doberman on "its me or the dog" which is a british tv show about this women going around helping bad behaved dogs turn good, and in the doberman video she explains how to slowly help dogs deal with separation anxiety in one part of the vid. The dobermans name was harvey, he had a muzzle on in the thumbnail, and his ears are not cropped (the episode is currently also on youtube!). Enjoy and hope this helps.

Honestly, this brought tears to my eyes, I get emotional very emotional when it comes to dogs. Her last act was to be with the one she loved and protected. Some dogs will try to run away or hide when it's their time to go to try and spare their owners the pain of their passing. But this wasn't in her nature, she loved you so much that she wanted her very last breath to be in your presence. It sounds like you and your family gave you the best life she could have had. And she wanted to do nothing more than you try and give you your best life too.

I've promised my girls 3 things for the rest of their lives with me. They will always be loved and cherished, they will always have their basic needs meet without fail, and I will try to be with them until their last breath. If I do have to euthanize them I will be in the operating room with them until their last breath. I've heard from many veterinarians that many owners cannot bare the emotional pain of being in the room with them during euthanasia. Guess what the dog does? It spends it's last moments on earth frantically looking for the comfort of their owners and will cry out in literal fear! I'll never put my girls through that! Never! No matter how much it's going to emotionally destroy me.

So this isn't really jealousy but more of wanting to be with me and missing me. I work a 8 hour job, 40 hours a week with a 1 hour lunch. I always go home for lunch to walk them and of course eat lunch.

My little mutt mix will steal my used socks and cuddle with them. Nothing else, just my socks.

My Newfie girl will take my pillow off of the bed and cuddle with it on the floor.

They miss me while I'm gone and they cuddle with things that smell like me.

I've had to euthanize one of my dogs a few years ago and I didn't take her to the vet. I called the vet, took her to her favorite tree with her boo (a plushie of the ghost from Super Mario) and had her euthanized there with me petting her until her heart stopped beating. She was euthanized because she had breathing problems, hearing problems, and was completely blind due to cataracts. The day I decided to call the vet was when she had a lot of struggle getting up from the floor

I'd do the same for my current dogs if the time comes. I hope they die of old age though

No matter how cynical it sounds in the context of this topic, these are consequences of a certain type of socialization. Dogs to which a similar method of socialization is applied can experience extreme stress and exhibit elements of neurotic behavior. At the same time, the owners often want the best, and are completely unaware of the level of load on the dog as a result. It all depends on the specific conditions of course.
I categorically do not want to offend you. I just want you to better study this issue, and have an understanding. So that in the future you yourself could choose the type of socialization that is optimal from your point of view for a particular dog. Yes, this is an offtopic, sorry.

This kind of behavior began when I started training her as a puppy. Like most breeders (my mom was a breeder and I lived in a farm so they were just released into a corral (about 4ha) at dawn and put back in the house at dusk), they rarely play or train the dogs so they're pretty wild mainly because no one teaches them anything other than to pee outside of the sleeping place. It got this exaggerated when we began having a relationship

I understood it as hunger for affection, given that the other dogs were neglected and I was yelled at for playing with them because "I wouldn't want to see them go when they were sold"

My current dogs are very affectionate but don't display the behaviour of my previous one. Take into account that one of my current dogs was a rescue which was sitting for seven years since she was taken into the refugee until I adopted her, usually alone because her friends were temporary given that they were usually adopted quickly. When I leave for class or for work, they don't bark or howl, or try to open the door. I asked my neighbor once if they bother while I'm away and he said that they can hear them when I'm at home (husky howls and whatnot) but not a fly goes by when I'm away

I understood. I can try to explain the mechanism with a simple example. It is necessary to consider the family of wolves. Wolf puppies follow the group always when they have physical strength to move. No one leaves them in a den, no one exposes them to isolation. The socialization of puppies in a group starts according to the same principle. But at a certain point I start to restrict puppies, or transfer them to primary communication with a person.
For a wolf puppy, the onset of isolation from the group, longer than 50-60 minutes, means not just tidiness, but very large troubles. An isolation of more than two hours means a situation on the verge of life and death. In the presence of complete physical well-being, wolf puppies go into great stress.
This is the body's response to isolation. In isolation, the body will die in the wild, so stressful behavior is triggered, increasing the chances for reintegration into the mother group.
In cases with puppies of domestic dogs, at the same time, the neurotic behavior is often captured in the same way that it is positively reinforced by the person.
For this reason, you can observe the behavior described above. For the same reason, if the socialization of puppies starts in a group, it is much better to work directly with the group when socializing with a person. This removes much of the neurotic behavior described above. True, there are some nuances, a rigid linear hierarchy in the group begins to appear there.
Nevertheless, I hope something can be understood from my ridiculous explanations.

Im just sure of what i want and my brothers couch is lonly im sexy fresh meet and im used to being bot i want to be a anamal porn superstar

In no case do I want to criticize your situation and offend you. I just want to try to explain why this happens and how it works. The ideal is not achievable, you always have to make a correction for real conditions. But when there is understanding, this allows you to better get the desired behavior.
There are no good or bad tricks in socializing. It all depends on what you expect to receive. This is not to say what to do 1. correctly, but to do 2. not correctly. It all depends on what you intend to receive. And from understanding what happens as a result of your actions. Don't take what I say as criticism. =)

If I sit at my pc for too long (anything over half an hour) without getting up and paying attention to my girl in some way she’ll start tugging at my belt with her teeth and nudging me out of the chair until I get up.
Only does this when I’m in my office though, if I’m watching tv in the lounge room she don’t care because she can get up onto the recliner next to me and relax with me still.

I think my office might be too hot for her and she don’t like it

No matter who you are, you cannot hug me on my dogs watch. He will snoot his way between us
Now that’s something I have to be careful with, if someone gets too physical with me that isn’t a child or a family member my girl gets very aggressive.
As simple as a big back breaking hug from an old frien she’s never met and she’ll push you over and growl at you.
And unless it’s my family let me send her inside before we spa in the back yard because she will give you stitches.
I’m working on these issues but at the same time you really shouldn’t test an Akita, especially when the owner warns you about her protective nature.
