Man, this thread took a dark and slightly abusive turn. Lots of judgment and name-calling.
I gotta tell you, there's an absolute GRIP of folks who get off on edging, and plenty of people (men and women alike) who LIKE AND PREFER orgasm denial. Orgasm - especially in men - can bring about a calmness and a lack of desire for sex known as the refractory period (time between orgasm and being ready again). Some people prefer the sensation of being aroused constantly, and find pleasure that state, at which point orgasm removes that "edge."
Beyond that, masturbation - while it's natural and has PLENTY of benefits - has a few drawbacks as well. The sex drive pushes us to seek interaction, flirtation, and even sexual intimacy with others. Taking a month off from getting off could bear some significant fruit socially. Or it could help a couple rekindle their sex lives.
This is a pretty harmless approach - Just cause it's not for you, seems a little judgey to call people an idiot for attempting to enjoy their own sexuality.
Just my .02.
