Yeah, you're right but the only reason I say it's the other model, is because the serial numbers do not match up to that model. I have a colt patent book and the serials match up with the '61 navy. I'm dyslexic and misread what @MishaCZ said. My grandfather tried to get it re blued but it didn't work, it fires cap and ball, no cartridges. The '58 Remington is an Italian model, and let me tell you, that sumbitch is accurate
Had one and sold it years ago. Wish I hadnt. I twice put six shots in a dinner plate at 200 yards. The second time was to prove I did it the first time.
Check the bore size. If its @ .36 its The 1861 Navy. If its .44, its an Army model. If the latter, get someone who knows to take a look. Reproductions have been around since the 1950s, and sometimes they can be faked up
