Retirement and Passing the Torch.

Why don't you go molest yourself?
''Ask him''.

What makes you think I want to answer that.
Answer, dont answer, I could care less. You were the one other peerson who mentioned it. Deal with it.

Dont like being referenced? Keep your foul mouth shut on here then. Either way, GFY.

It is good for wandering zoos to have a place like this to find common ground, or at least the impression that you're not alone with these feelings. Somehow though - sign of the times perhaps - this also included a lot of toxic contributions and criticism, like with the comic book and how it had been funded. I also wouldn't have gone full libertarian where "freedom of speech" becomes "freedom of responsibility", but that is a personal difference and I had to chuckle several times when you're ended up trolling people. All in good jest hope.

Anyway, managing a forum is not an easy thing to do, so the appropriate thing to do is to thank you for your work and wish you all the best with what you are going through in your personal life.

I dont remember the exact details of it. All I retained of what I was told by multiple people is that our hero was personally responsible for actively recruiting his fellow incels to the site, Probably by convincing them he found a workaround for being unfuckable by human females. Judging by the number of these toxic fucks who are and have been here, he was convincing enough to at least attract the more vile of them to come here and troll.

@RexShepherd alluded to this in his post at the start of the thread. Ask him, he may remember the details.
Thx. Hate the cells

Hey everybody,

As if late, i havent been very active on the forum and mostly been in the background taking care of things.

However my personal life has taken a bad turn and it has drawn me further and further away from zv in my focus and time. I dont see this situation getting any better for awhile and i understand that its probably better to pass the torch to the next generation of zoos.

Especially while things are at their peak and fuctionally stable. So @FloofyNewfie Will become the next nexus for ZV, and will be taking over all social, judgements and everything I managed with this forum.

And I trust him to do so. You should too. I will be around for the next few months as it takes time to move things into the new administration. I have a few things to wrap up. A few research papers in the pipeline, the comic will be fully released, financials, connections and contacts for the ads.. etc etc...

This is a big jump for the zoo community ive been serving for 6 years to my best ability. It started in 2019 and will wrap up this year.

Its been quite a fun ride, and helping to shape the entire zoo community to what it stands for, how to manage it, make it community involved, self funding, and a massive leap from BF and what it was before I got involved.

And i couldnt do it alone, to every moderator and the key people who help keep the servers running besides the constant attack, I and we all owe you a debt of gratitude.

A state of the union lol or forum of how things currently are

-the ideological formation and foundation of the forum being free-speech centric, libertarian minded, public space. It has had its ups and downs, but i cannot imagine the zoo community wanting to go back to worshipping moderators or admins, instead challanging them with real questions of where the community is going.

Ive been known to troll once in awhile, but in reality, this forum has operated with these idealogical principles, but its future rests now with floofys decisions. Im sure you will definately hold his feet to the fire just like for me.

-Helping other zoos in their projects.

Zooier than thou, Being the most successful, had their start from here and now is really nice to see its become matured.

Bestia amore, equibooru, the french and german zoo forums... we help other zoo with their projects. Thats the principle and have a non-prejidiced outlook so long as non-abuse is shown.

-Zoo Pride Week being a brainchild of mine, proving to be a successful celebration for 5 years now. Im glad to those who chose to meetup irl and leave the shadows because of these set aside dates. Really i think this is the biggest glue between real people i could have done to encourage. I hope this will continue.

-going from porn funding of Beastforum to 100% community funding and screened advertising to fund the forum.

-the careful controlled asset management of donations that is currently allowing the forum to grow. Investing in small zoo positive projects when possible.

-contacting scientists, conducting research and using zv as an asset for google scholar. This is has been a huge undertaking and its produced some peer reviewed papers.

-zoophilia.wiki exists. Still needing a dedicated writer and manager lol. But it exists and thats a future project.

-zeta chronicles was community funded and created. The remaining pages will be released shortly and its been positive!

-Those whom have come to me behind the scenes with secrets that ive kept for safety of the zoo community. To protect zoos in various nations, your trust in me has always humbled me. These are real people in real danger, and I can say in confidence that it wasnt misplaced.

Loose lips sink ships and my mind is at ease, things were solved in complete quiet confidence. I am honored with that responsibility.

-Rulemaking, judgements and forum policy i served as the final judge and set forth standing rules and case law for the next administration. Of which, will change or not but solely up to them to rudder this ship.

Lastly, in the end, ive always be an adovocate for the protection, love and genuine union zoos have with their animal mates. Really, it comes back to the beautiful animals we love and serve wholeheartedly.

This forum, is human stuff. Our animal mates dont care but only care that we love them. If this forum HELPS the humans love their animals more, teaches them to love more and corrects bad behaviors towards animals, then its a gem that should be protected.

The moment that stops, it is you the community that should carpet bomb this place and start anew. Let that be the final crossing line of this forum.

I loved this community, and i may pop in time to time but i will just be that, a citizen, a retiree. To take the example of george washington, and to hand power over to become just a regular joe.

Thats were I have to go, and hang my hat. I only wish and pray that ive done good for real people, their animals and the world.

Its time for floofy to take the throne soon, and may we all give our blessing for this transition. We are going to need it.
thank you for your work!

@ZTHorse what about future endeavors that promote zoophilia awareness? How will that be managed?
It's right there in his post.
I will be around for the next few months as it takes time to move things into the new administration. I have a few things to wrap up. A few research papers in the pipeline, the comic will be fully released, financials, connections and contacts for the ads.. etc etc...

Yeah, I really don't understand where all of the hate towards the mods here comes from. I don't let abuse go if I see it. Can't fathom anyone thinking I would.

However, I cannot view every video in the porn section here, that's where the report button and our users can help. Those reports are dealt with according to the rules.

Have a nice retirement @ZTHorse

actually punishing people for repeatedly posting obviously abusive content, stuff like that? If we can get a cleanup I'd totally come back to being more active on here.
Have you seen this thread here?
How time consuming do you think it is to systematically clean a sub section of the porn section yourself?

Males and Animals 2100 Threads, 103.500 messages

Females and Animals 1400 Threads, 96.700 messages

Trans and Animals 95 Threads, 4.900 messages

Start with one of the smaller sections if you want.
If you need to keep track or ask questions, join this here:
This group has 20 members. About 12 joined last year - not a single person from those has ever posted anything in the cleanup thread, created a thread in the group or reported abusive content either ever or in any continuous way.

One single user beside me has ever consistently reviewed a whole porn section here thread by thread, video by video, one by one.

I have asked people to help with the systematic cleaning on several occasions, nobody ever managed to continuously help for more than maybe a couple of days.
At best from what I remember maybe a couple of singular threads were reviewed.

If you want to make a change and clean up the forum, I am always going to be supportive of that.
But it is physically impossible for a single person or a small number of people to do that quickly.
And as you are doing it, there are new threads constantly being posted and new porn uploaded.

I do not think people quite realize what they are asking the mods to do.
A video here is usually about 80-100MB, downloading that over TOR takes about 5 minutes on a good day hours on a bad day.
That video often has 20 minutes but may have up to 60 minutes. So you are not going to be watching that at 1x speed. I use 4-16x speed when reviewing porn because I do not want to die of boredom.

This is a job that is going to take either months for the small sections, or years for the large ones.
And then you need to consistently keep an eye on the cleaned sections and monitor new posts, which I do for some sections.
Not all mods do this because we all have normal human lives. In fact I do not believe any other mod does systematically review porn the way I do. So realistically you have 1-2 people trying to systematically clean up the porn sections, more realistically 1 person. If there are more of us, then there is no public record of it. So most of the cleaning relies on user reports.

And this is something you do in your free time and unpaid.
Help us if you can.

What about process of elimination by logistics to checkmark each and every thread assigned to each staff member?

Divide the current amount of people by the amount of threads to be responsible to scan for any nefarious intent.

just to echo these two posts: grow some ovaries or balls, and pitch in to help. Stop being a Karen or a Richard and crying.
, I cannot view every video in the porn section here, that's where the report button and our users can help.
typical people who do not get their way, try to get someone cancelled and when the mod courts rules against them, they blame the mods rather than admit defeat. They often do not take into account, as I said before, play in someone else sandbox play by their rules, donot like the rule, make your own sandbox.
Help us if you can.
this simple line would solve so many fucking issues. In what 3 years I have been here, I have 2 (one, two) items I reported that were not removed. When you enter a thread and read through, how many seconds does it take to flag something?

though most people are pissed off because free speech is permitted and ZV does not practice cancel culture, but rather tosses it in the dumpster. Fear not the dumpster divers toss people in the disposal all the time.

if you do not like your feeling hurt, stay out of the dumpster. If you do not like abusive content - fucking report it - Help or shut up. cry babies

Stuff gets posted faster than it can be reviewed. By the time you clean up a thread, it has 3 more posts. There are several thousand of us members. We can self police and report

I have no hatred towards any of the mods. Several of them know I used to sweep threads, or search for words that could be tied to more problematic content, or just monitor the threads of animals I enjoyed the most, send off a stack of reports and wait to see if things moved forward. What they don't know is that I used to also sit there and feel bad that I couldn't idk, bake them a platter of cookies because while I knew it was their job to review reports, I couldn't help but fret that I was over-reacting and being some K9 Karen trying to act high-and-mighty. I've moderated forums and chats before. I know at least to some extent how overwhelming it can be.

But re-reading I realize I forgot a key term: "going forward." Expecting a retro-active cleanup across a site even a fraction of this size is greedy at best, and I apologize for not including those two words anywhere in my post. While it'd be tempting to say "in my defence, I was distracted," that's a near 24/7 state for me so it's not an excuse.

Keeping that in mind, my question is probably better stated as such:

Going forward, can we expect stricter moderation on certain matters, such as how many offenses can be struck before a person is banned, penalties on not posting DF content to the DF, or other issues that other members have complained about?

In all seriousness, the mods aren't all bad. Knowing Floofy is in charge gives me hope, Pes, Foxandthehounds and a few others have probably dealt with my barage of reports back in the old days, and Oldman's a cool dude too. Plus there's others but I'm getting sleepy and brain no do good thinking when brain fuzzy from body no do night-night thing so memory no go brrrr.

This is a very complex subject.
Here are some of my observations. But I absolutely do not expect any change because of the difficulty of doing so.

1. There is no usable support for reviewing content on here. You can not mark reviewed threads or posts. Which leads to confusion on what has been reviewed or not and by who which adds unnecessary time spent on 1 piece of content.

2. The rules are incredibly complex and long. They are difficult to read and remember. The rules should be rewritten and clarified. Which I have attempted to do in some parts of them without changing the meaning. All my modifications are posted in the thread.

3. Over the years I have been here I learned an important lesson: "asking people on the internet to do something for you works 1% of time." This is the "Effort -> Nope" rule of the internet.

4. If you want a change, you have to drive it yourself.
Pick ONE thing and stand behind it until it is either done or proved impossible.
If you ask for more than ONE thing at a time, you have absolutely no chance.

So long, and definitely fair well @ZTHorse, I do wish you the best of luck on your current and future endeavors. I'll certainly do my best to continue running this site for the foreseeable future.

With all that being said...

The change of power will be noticed. I shall rule with an iron fist! ✊ Y'all shall bow down to your new glorious leader!!! ?

Welcome to the ZooVille.S.S.R.!

All kidding aside, I pretty much plan to remain the same old Floofy you all come to know and love (or hate, depending on who you're asking lol), and while I do plan to make some small tweaks and changes here and there, I do plan on taking the torch and running with it in more or less the same direction. I'll still do the zooey pride week celebration and all that stuff that ZV has been doing for years.
Honestly you won't do a worse job, I have confidence in that. Good luck. I mean that sincerely.

I think what many people forget is that this is a HUGE monolith of a site, essentially governed by 16 technical staff members, only about 9 of which consistently monitor this site on a day-to-day basis. It's a ratio of 16:223,000 members on the site. And you might say... oh but most of those 223,000 accounts are either abandoned, duplicates, loss password dead accounts, etc... but to put it into perspective ZooVille gets around 9,000 to around 10,000 individual user logins per day, and an average of 1,500 posts per day. Yes, per day. It's massive. We, the active staff team, try our very best to manage this forum. But, it's not perfect. The very idea of "perfect" is unobtainable... it's a complete fantasy. Someone, somewhere, somehow will always find problems no matter what we do. It's an inevitability.

It takes a certain breed of people, a breed of crazy, to take on this role of moderator/administrator, unpaid mind you, because they want to see betterment within this community of a webspace. Are we perfect? Pffft... no, myself included, nobody's perfect. Again, perfect is unobtainable. We simply do our best. For some people "our best" is good enough, and for others "our best" isn't good enough. That's just how the "civilized" world works.

Like mentioned before, don't expect HUGE massive, shocking, unthinkable, dramatic, over-the-top... etc. change on this website. I plan to makes some changes over time here and there, probably one of the first being to separate the Dumpster Fire from the general sections into it's own category between the general sections and the porn. And over time small changes will be made. That's been the case since the beginning of this website. We no longer allow fence hopping, we don't allow food bating, we don't allow hobbles, we've clarified some of the albeit limited rules of the DF, we've reworked many of the overall rules over the past nearly 5 years. Things will eventually change for the better, but don't get your hopes up for rapid change that you personally want to see immediately done. It's a balancing act, but being too rash too quickly will more than likely have the unintended consequence of tipping the scales unfavorably.
