Remember when you couldn't take dick pics to send to your friends because local drugstore wouldn't develop them?I do....although I dont remember it taking weeks. Remember taking a roll of Plus X pan to the Drugstore, where you could smell developer? Or the little deckle~~~~~ edges on the returned prints?
Oh....didja ever get one back, just the neg, with "Illegal" bannered across it?
Never tried to take dic pics, regardless of the camera type. I don't think my friends would've understood....even the imaginary onesRemember when you couldn't take dick pics to send to your friends because local drugstore wouldn't develop them?
Oh I remember playing euchre, and also hook if you had that game available in your area.Yep. The Big Bambu. A bunch of us threw in together and rolled a QP in it for a gag. Didn't smoke worth a shit. Ended up tearing it down and re-rolling using good ol' Zig-zags and EZ-Widers.
Of course, there's always the adventure of rolling a seed you didn't notice, and having the damned thing go off like a popcorn kernel partway through the joint - Damn near burned a house down due to one of those. Ker-POP, and the joint blew apart like somebody stuffed a cigarette load in it. Thought it was all over, but we must've missed a bit of the hots, 'cause about 20 minutes later, we're in the kitchen playing euchre, and we started noticing a burning smell. Turned out to be the arm and one of the cushions of the couch smoldering and just about ready to burst into flames. We managed to get it out the front door before it actually went full bonfire mode.
I remember when one of the rich people in our neighborhood actually got a color TV. The whole neighborhood knew about it. I think our TV was like a 16" B&W tube, but the tube was somewhat rectangularI remember when the TV stations signed off at midnight. We only had 3 channels.
Use to be everyone I knew was older than me, now the tables are turning. When you connect with old friends now, seems the conversation is about "did you know such and such died" I am 68 so still a few years to go.I guess it was God's grandfather they were talking about when I went to Sunday school. Hang in there and one day 50 will seem young. I play cards at the local community center and am considered a kid because I'm under 80.![]()
I was going to comment but talking about stuff during them years I think may cross the line here.I remember when I was an alter boy and the priest would come back into the vestibule and fondle my balls right before mass .... ah the good ol' days!
I remember when we got our first color TV. Don't remember what size it was. But it was an amazing thing to watch,.I remember when one of the rich people in our neighborhood actually got a color TV. LOL yep. Looked like a cabinet. In fact after it quit working. I took it apart and used the cabinet part to make a book case out of.I remember that too!!
It was one of those tvs with the wood paneling!
I wanted to do something similar for a gaming cabinet but sadly it caught fireLOL yep. Looked like a cabinet. In fact after it quit working. I took it apart and used the cabinet part to make a book case out of.

That's awesome. Kinda like keeping a piece of history to tell stories to the kiddosThis turned out great. I still have it and use it.
We tore down an old house that some old guy who died owned. He was a horder. His house was full of them old TV wood cabinet consuls. We probably burned a 100 of them. That's awesome. Kinda like keeping a piece of history to tell stories to the kiddos
F's in the chat...We tore down an old house that some old guy who died owned. He was a horder. His house was full of them old TV wood cabinet consuls. We probably burned a 100 of them.
Didja remember to let 'im out? It's gotta be hard to breathe in there...I remember "Prince Albert" in a can.
We had a handy-dandy well, but I remember that washing machine... it *ALWAYS* fucked up the zippers on my jeans! I'd get a new pair of jeans, and within 2 weeks, the tab on the zipper would be bent in half. It'd make me look like I was walking around with a permanent boner!I remember my mom's old washing machine. It had a wringer on top of the washer. I was afraid that it could take your hand off. There were no dryers. We had an outside cloths line, and in the winter the cloths would be all frozen. We also carried our water from a spring on the side of the hill.
Those things were called "mangles" for a reason....Ur20z, are you telling us, in those days you DIDN'T have a Perma-Stiffie? Did you get nominated for Sainthood? We had a handy-dandy well, but I remember that washing machine... it *ALWAYS* fucked up the zippers on my jeans! At THAT age, one at least shouldn't be perceived as having a perma-boner, whether one does or not! Besides, it made zipping my pants a serious pain in the... Uh... well, in this case, a pain in the dick, unless I put 'em on backwards to make it a pain in the ass...Those things were called "mangles" for a reason....Ur20z, are you telling us, in those days you DIDN'T have a Perma-Stiffie? Oh way before that for me.Anyone remember when shows like the fresh prince of bel-air were on the air?
26 Men, Northwest Passage ( Buddy Ebsen's 1st series) , Annie Oakley, Yancey Derringer, The Last Of The Mohicans( which featured both the OTHER Lone Ranger and The Wolfman, John Hart and Lon Chaney, jr as Hawkeye and Chingachgook, respectively ) were my first little nibbles into US History.Oh way before that for me.
My brother and I would watch the 3 Stooges, and my dad hated them. Of course there was a whole host of other shows back then too.
But I did watch the Fresh Prince a few times and thought he was funny. I watch America's Funniest Videos at times, and his opposite hosts that show.
Young un lol. I remember when the phone was on the wall with a dial handle and a pick up mike. Cell phones were 25 + years away. We had just converted to a rotary dial phone on the 12 party line. But the old cranker was still hooked up.Remember when we used to have free nights and weekends for cell phones?
