I just learned about the situation in Russia (I'm not talking about the current war), and indeed I was really surprised to see how poor Russia is. All the wealthy are concentrated in the big cities, and since Russia is made up mostly of small towns and villages, an astronomical percentage of the Russian population is poor.

When a country has no outside enemy to dominate or defend against they tend to declare domination over their own people because gov’t need a common enemy to unite and in turn control their masses.

I beg to differ, most actors are doing it willingly and I believe that it is not poverty that drives people to zoo porn, but a sense of emancipation. Lise is French, Liz is English, Kirsten is German, Wanwan is Hong Kong, and Cupcake is American. I'm not sure where the other superstars come from; Ariel, Yasmin, Vixen, and Summer, but I'm guessing it's not Russia. If you look at where Silesto shoots her films, you'll notice that she does so in high-end apartments. Zoo actors are not impoverished, contrary to popular belief and they all love what they do. It is the self righteous of many cultures that drives some of these actresses insane.

I think to see the truth you have to see that it is made up of everything. In zoo actresses there are girls who do it voluntarily out of love for animals, and others who do it after being scammed.
Indeed the girls who are emansipated, who love the zoo are the last generation zoo, Lise, Sonya, Veronica, AOZ etc. And they all wear a mask.
The generation before them were real prostitutes, like at Mexzoo. And in the era of Team Russia: and the mystery to me is why they were filming without a mask? TM guy is a jerk, he may have scammed them as @K9Lover_o7 wrote.
And in the generation even before, it was both professional actresses and prostitutes. They did not wear a mask because it was not forbidden.

I would not consider a single isolated instance as a benchmark; even in mainstream porn, some performers may come out and allege extortion after falling prey or squandering their first success. There are usually a few rogue actors.
