Nellie Bly....one of the first genuine Journalists in the country. After hearing stories about the Horrors of 19th c Mental asylums, she had herself committed. The Story goes that after a month or so, the Commiting Institution's people found her out...and were not inclined to let her leave. Fortunately she had let a friend know what she intended...and got her released. Care for mental illness began to improve, but I wonder what she'd think of what little real progress has happened in over a century.
