That photo right there. That level of drama and impact while still maintaining realism is what I wish to achieve. Just stunning.
Amazing photo and with the story behind..And without going into a big story, this photo was taken in the middle of a critical moment in my life even though I didn't know it yet. The colors in the sky were so rich with oranges, purples and greens as I drove into a thunderstorm that I had to stop on the highway and take the shot. Even so, the camera couldn't pick up the vibrant colors that I saw. There was a hint to me that a major point of my life was crossed and the next had begun. Almost as if it was a gift from the universe. Maybe one day, I'll rework it in a full size image. Hope this can pick up any spirits who might need it.

Indeed. It still cracks me up seeing 3 - 6 foot tall termite mounds on the side of the highway like it's no big thing. That and instead of seeing raccoons on the side of the roads, there are chacma baboons.Termite mound?
Well, maybe I didn't post it. No matter. Here it is. What a nice little sunscreen for the termites.Indeed it is. Southern Africa is a complete growth market for termite exterminators! Step 3? Profit.
I think I may have posted one shot a few days ago where a termite mound was built around a short tree. It's off. Ya, they are eating the wood, but they also defend the tree from other bugs and the tree doesn't die. It's this odd relationship. Maybe termites are running a Mafia style protection racket and we never got the memo?
Lemmie find it.
For me no problem to see it again, and yes, is so erotic!!!View attachment 668645

It wasn't uncommon, but that hunter wasn't a Soldier. Its one reason though, why a Plains Rifle, like a Hawken, was shorter-barrelled than a Kentucky-Pennsylvania Rifle....What this bo is doin', the Long Rifle isn't possible for. Riding a Buffalo Horse, at speed is....exhilarating. Riding it in among a herd of 2000 lb Buffs would have been.....terrifying. Single shot Rifles, were actually a handicap, compared to a Buffalo Lance, or a Hunting Bow...Reloading at a gallop? Now that's soldiering.
