There are so many books written by unscrupulous "get rich quick" authors that make their living doing seminars and pyramid schemes. Is there a legitimately good book by a financial professional that is geared towards the beginner investor? A book that every investor would know by name, an industry standard. As with any skill it takes time and practice to learn, there are MANY methods of trading and they all come with varying risk/reward and skill needed to be profitable. I recommend taking the time to determine your financial situation and time available to trade then do some research on the varying types of trading to find one that will fit both our budget and time constraints. Once you've done that you should study that particular method of trading and ensure you have a good basic understanding of the process as they are each different. When you are confident in your choice and basic understanding then find a trading platform that meets your needs and open a demo account, This will often allow you to familiarize yourself with the platform and begin trading with "play money" so you can practice before spending real money. When you feel you are ready then jump in with a real account and see how it goes.
