True, I do like to make sure to know abit of someone's else culture. More as not to be a fool, embarrass myself or them, as well not to mock them. And some culture does interest me. Like the Japanese's culture.

Also a good way to better understand other people too. And not just from the norm we normally hear or see in the media. Like how some places in US likes metal sticks that can say boom, while fire a lead pallet out of the other end (And for them that dont know what I mean, basically firearms) I know some great people that live in the US and not at all how media is showing US citizens. I also assuming alot of uses on this forum is from the US or at least US or Canada

I was mostly meaning "cultured" like the meme when people talk about anime (may be just an American thing, so don't feel bad if you don't know it)
