Interesting. The 80's really were an excellent time for pulp fantasy.
Indeed, and Piers Anthony liked hinting at or outright having bestiality in some of his novels, reading them as a young equine Zoo made it really stand out where most wouldn't get it, like this line from another book in the series "try the wares of the mares and britches of the bitches" you tell me what he's referring to ?

Yes I'm quoting a line from a book I've not read in nearly 30 years so I might be a bit off but I doubt it.

It actually said that? Unexpected the least.
He was insulting another person that I think had mentioned either his or his son's relationship with a unicorn, his son marries the daughter of the mare he had a fling with and it pissed off those in power. His son and her daughter get up to some rather interesting trysts, to get pregnant they have sex in each of her forms together, one being as hummingbirds.

The most zooish fantasy I remember reading was The Belgariad where the sorcerer Balgarath was awfully insistent that he married a woman, even though it's clear his wolfish wife wouldn't agree.

Been ages since I read that one, and I'd honestly forgotten that little tidbit ?
