Lamentations of a zoophile

I'm very glad I joined this forum. Seeing this thread especially has made up my mind about my feelings and moral standpoint regarding bestiality and zoophilia. I am a vegetarian, intending to go vegan at some point, and I care deeply about animals. I guess zoosexuality is just another one of those topics where misinformation and prejudice leads to hatred and fear. Aren't people just amazing? *sigh*
I don't really know if I'm a zoophile yet, due to limited experience, and probably less interest than many here (definitely some though). If it could be a secondary thing then it seems more likely. But either way, I feel much better about my confused feelings, both sexual and otherwise. And finding the label that fits me doesn't seem to matter as much now I know I'll be okay with whatever it turns out to be.
Thank you for opening my eyes, you people seem really cool. <3

Thank you so much <3 I've always known I'm a zoophile, or at least.. like.. felt the attraction to be too strong to deny as I am a very sexual person. That part of the zooPHILIC and zooSEXUAL is quite.. uh.. undeniable? But in all honesty, just the love and respect you feel towards your animal partners counts.

Even as a highly sexual person, I've still found the whole über-sexual side of this part of me to be off-putting at times. I love to celebrate it uninhibited, but it's not all sexual but also spiritual, love, genuine interest, caring.

Ps. Everyone mute Wolfia, I'm not wasting my time on a troll, and you should neither ;)

Thank you for your thoughts.

I couldn't agree more. Beasts have always held my fascination. Animals aren't an inferior being, to me I truly see them as my equal. The phrase "just a dog" doesn't exist in my vocabulary. I find the anthromorphization of them problematic, because there's another dimension to animals, I would say, that non-zoos and even bestialists will never understand. I might add that is especially difficult for people who reject nuance and readily accept generalization.

Sexually and romantically, quadrupeds, mostly canines, are my main attraction. They nearly embody perfection. Many zoos find that with animals, less is more. Yes, animals can't carry on a verbal conversation with you or enter into marriage, but they also do not know relatively petty emotions such as jealousy, ignorance, hatred, etc. They are a shining moral example. I admire that like most people wouldn't believe.

One may ask: "is the inner turmoil, the fear of being outed, the social and legal risk, and everything else worth it?" In my opinion, hell yes, it is absolutely worth it. The passion of fighting for what you believe is right, and prioritizing innovation while simultaneously defying the conventions of society is one of the greatest feelings in the world.

Given our current state of affairs, the characterization of zoophilia as "just another sexuality" is wholly inappropriate. That would imply we are on equal footing with non-zoos culturally, legally, emotionally...we are not. Without question, zoophiles are a discriminated minority, and they deserve their civil rights as much as anyone.
