My father is litheraly a certified mushroom expert. It's called "Pilzsachverständiger" or "Pilzberater" in German. I go foraging shrooms since I can walk, quite literally. For food? Is it dangerous cuz of how easy it is to misidentify the poisonous mushrooms from the edible ones?

Well, yes. An expert is the best way to learn. If you are very systematic with an identification book you can identify some. Others are DLBMs: damn little brown mushrooms. I'm a mushroomer, and I did one time find a group of the destroying angel - the one that looks like a shiitake but smells totally different. I heard of one person who failed identification. After he recovered (damn lucky he didn't die) he reported that it was delicious. For food? Is it dangerous cuz of how easy it is to misidentify the poisonous mushrooms from the edible ones?
I did "poison" myself once with "speitäubling" (Russula emetica). I accidently identified him as an "speisetäubling" (russula vesca), they can look indistinguishable when they are joung, and even tho I did a taste test to identify him, I had the cold, and did not chew the sample long enough to notice the burn.Well, yes. That makes me laugh at the perversity of the world.
