Hypothetical - Escape from Oz

Tourist
Hi folks. In my spare time, I follow a great deal of various people on social media. Not the drivel found on Facebook etc, but actual people from various walks of life, generally with something of substance to offer. Be it their perspective on various topics, or just for pure laughs and entertainment.

I'm sure most of us have noticed, there's been growing uncertainty and tensions pretty much everywhere the last few years, and seemingly getting worse all the time. I've seen countless individuals discussing prepartions for "the great reset" "WW3", pretty much every potential looming disaster possible. It seems lately there's a growing number of people discussing such things, particularly in Australia.

Information has been spread for a while now, about many of the "big end of town" building bunkers etc. Zuckerburg, Gates etc. Iniatially I thought it was pretty funny, but when you start thinking about it all, it makes you question what they may know, or have knowledge of that most of society doesn't have access to.

In short, I live in Australia. For the sake of the exercise, I'm wondering which country people might consider the safest refuge should shit hit the fan so to speak. Short of nuclear warfare, but say Australia was to succumb to a combined attack by several enemies at once, thrust into martial law, locked down again like we saw during covid, but worse. Basically all freedoms completely removed. Which country would you consider to be the safest refuge option and why?

I'm not suggesting anything of the sort will actually happen. Just curious as to peoples thoughts.

I would guess Australia is pretty safe considering it is quite separated and the current problems are on the opposite side of the planet.
+ Almost everything in your country is either poisonous, venomous or it wants to kill you just for the sake of it.
Even the army lost the battle against emus there. Even your birds are deadly. :D

Ah yes, emus are not to be fucked with. Don't even look sideways at a Cassowary. And a full grown Eastern Grey, or Red Kangaroo will rip you a new arsehole, and cave your chest in at the same time

For entertainment's sake, and in the theme of this post I've looked into the strategic pro's and cons off Australia's defences, susceptability to attacks on infrastructure, and different types of milatary assault by various countries. There's actually quite a bit of interesting stuff on Youtube.

Depending on the type and duration of attack, Australia could fend off a complete takeover almost indefinetly as I see it. However much of our infrastructure and supply chains are highly vulnerable.

Still curious, if a fellow was looking to flee. Where to? Nothern Europe? Latin America? Indonesia?
