may involve the use of one or more of ..... herbs, supplements, medications, mechanical stimulation
or a combination of these
for some it is repeated milking alone and for a few it just doesnt happen at all

Id say as much as you can tolerate. Obviously you dont want it to be painful. Yes herbs and or suppliments is best
 
I'm sorta surprised that nobody has mentioned the ultimate hucow tale - Piers Anthony's (Yes, the same Piers Anthony who's famous for the Xanth books) story "In the Barn" - first (and perhaps only? Not sure) publication in either the "Dangerous Visions" or "Again, Dangerous Visions" (I forget which of the two) collections from Harlan Ellison back in the early 70s. (Supposedly, a third volume, tentatively titled "The Last Dangerous Visions", has been on the back burner since the publication of "Again, ...") He can be pretty feeeelthy - He does a rather short scene of a guy fucking a sheep in his (very hard to find) "Pornucopia". And of course, anybody who's read the "Phaze" series knows that he's had human characters fucking unicorns. I've long suspected that he is/was a horse-fucker - there are many "hints" in that direction, though if he is, he's "deep in the stall" about it.
