When we were lab hunting, we made a list of names for females and males we liked, just on the off chance we landed on a male. The standouts for the male were Scout, Tucker, and Riley. But hey! Sometimes it’s also good to leave the name in limbo until you’ve got him in your arms, because sometimes, the dog helps pick the name, you know what I mean?

I feel like it’s tough to have a name picked out before meeting them. My parents name my black lab Titan because he was the biggest of his siblings and he just had a big personality as a pup barging right through his siblings to run to my parents.

Hopefully a good name will come to you once you get to know them as bit. I think Loki is a cool name but it’d be so funny if he’s the least mischievous dog out there lmao.
 
Blacky, Shadow.....maybe Negro (Spanish for black) if you're feeling daring.

I like the name Randy, but I probably wouldn't dare use it as it's another word for horny here.
 
Blackie , darkness , Murphy, nighty, but also keep in mind you might one day be yelling his name into the neighborhood at night because he got out.

I can imagine someone driving around certain neighborhoods yelling "blackie!" Might not go over well.
 
Choose a general area of interest to search for names. I like reading and literature so my pets have been named after characters from books and mythology. I named my cat Lemminkäinän (Lemmi for short) after the character from the Kalevala (Finnish national epic).
 
Any idea the order that he was born ie. 1st, 2nd or?
My rascal was first born so Alfa, shortened to Alf when he's good. When naughty ?&$@/< etc etc. He knows he's in the doo doo when I call him Alfred.20240607_131827.jpg20240607_131827.jpg
